Reviews, live reports, setlists and photo galleries from Media Junkbox — now grouped set by set, and credited to the photographers who shot them.
Media Junkbox is two things in one app: the independent music magazine you already read, and a gig companion that remembers every ticket, every show and every night you've been to.
THE MAGAZINE
• Album reviews, often ahead of release, with honest, unbought opinions
• Live reports with the full setlist, so you see exactly what was played
• Exclusive photo galleries from the pit, grouped set by set under the band who was on stage, with the photographer credited on every shot
• Open any article's full gallery as a grid, then swipe it full screen
• Interviews and features with the artists behind the records
• Search the whole archive, or follow an artist or a writer through their page
• Home Screen widgets: the newest stories, and our Album of the Week
• Comment on any article and read what everyone else made of it
READ YOUR WAY
• Save an article to read later, or favourite it to keep for good
• Follow the sections you care about (Live Reviews, Interviews and more) and get a push the moment something new goes up
• Everything you save is cached on your device, so it's there on the train, on the tube, or at the back of the venue
GIGS: YOUR TICKETS, UNWRAPPED
• Scan a ticket instead of typing it: a screenshot, the seller's PDF, a photo of a paper stub, or pasted confirmation text. It's read entirely on your device, nothing is uploaded, and we never ask for access to your email
• Or add one by hand in a few taps
• Every order becomes a stub: seller, order reference, what you actually paid once the fees are in, plus section, row and seat
• Rebuild your back catalogue: file the shows you went to years ago and watch the count climb
• Add any show to your calendar in one tap
• Find gigs happening near you, or narrow it to only the artists you follow
• Follow artists one at a time, or import your library from Apple Music in one go
• Keep a wishlist of the shows you haven't booked yet
• Your year in gigs: how many shows, how much you spent, your top artists and venues, your busiest month, and the first and last night of the year, with a share card for when you want to show it off
YOUR ACCOUNT
• Browse the whole magazine without signing in, and keep your gig ledger entirely on your device
• Sign in with your email or with Sign in with Apple to save articles, comment, and carry your gigs across devices
• Delete your account and your data at any time from Settings → Delete Account
Media Junkbox is independent music journalism. Every review, report and photograph is ours. No paywalls, no clickbait, just people who love and live music.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Photo galleries, rebuilt — and the photographers get their name on every shot.
• Photos in a live report are now grouped into sets, one per band, under the name of whoever was on stage — instead of a long stack of look-alike sliders.
• "All Photos" opens the whole shoot as a grid you can scan in one pass, then drop into full screen from anywhere in it.
• Full screen now credits the photographer under every photo, including guest shots by someone other than the night's photographer.
• Swiping full screen carries on across the whole article and tells you whose set you have moved into — VoiceOver says so too.
• A gallery of one photo is shown properly at full width with its caption, instead of as a lone cropped tile.
Also in this release:
• Italic text in articles renders again, along with underline, strikethrough, superscript and subscript, highlight, quotes and code.
• Numbered lists now number instead of showing bullets, and nested lists indent.
• Paragraphs break where the writer put the break, and stray formatting from the website no longer leaks into the page mid-sentence.
• Accented characters and symbols display properly instead of showing raw codes.
• Links with a mailto: or tel: address are no longer styled as taps that do nothing.
