PERFORMANCE • By implementing performance updates from the Scout Film Engine OFX Plugin, Tech Scout adopts a near 10x improvement in film emulation render speed. • User-experienced capture-to-capture develop time is reduced by more than 80%. • iOS image processing and handoff stages are further optimized, reducing memory usage and increasing speed considerably. • Thermal performance is significantly improved, improving render times on sustained captures without throttling. • Increased UI responsiveness during renders. iOS WIDGETS • Added a full suite of iOS Lock Screen and Control Center widgets. • Added unique widgets for Photo Mode, Director's Viewfinder, Exposure Mode, and Sun Position, opening Tech Scout directly into your preferred mode. CAMERA MODE • New User Buttons functionality added to the Camera Tools menu. Activating them enables two tappable buttons on the viewfinder, assignable to a function of your choice. • New exposure tools added to Camera Mode, accessible via user button. Tech Scout v1.0.3 introduces major new features, including Sun Position Mode, our feature-grade film grain engine, global film format controls, and assorted quality-of-life updates and bug fixes. SUN POSITION MODE • Sun Position is the fourth full mode in Tech Scout, joining Camera, Director's Finder, and Exposure. Designed for scouting, Sun Position is an augmented reality mode enabling you to track and anticipate the sun and moon’s positions on the scout date of your choosing. • Scrub the timeline to adjust Sun Position’s scout time and date. You can see the sun position later today, or on any date in the future. • Individually selectable sun pathways for summer solstice, winter solstice, and equinox. Keep the sky as busy or quiet as you’d prefer. • Fully customizable appearance. Individually control all overlays onscreen, as well as the camera look itself. • Shadow lines project along the floor, giving you a sense of where shadows will fall on the day. • Three different sky box alignment modes allow you to overcome the limitations of the iPhone’s compass. Simply drag the sky box until the sun indicator falls on the current sun position. • Moon pathways are modeled with the same detail as the sun, including position, path, phase, moonrise, and moonset. Moon phase, supermoon, and harvest moon reddening are all drawn onscreen, along with moon shadow lines along the ground plane. • Sun and moon overlays switch on and off independently, element by element, above and below the horizon. • Sun Position captures save to your active Director's Finder project by default. CAMERA MODE • An entirely new film grain engine has been ported to run on the iPhone. Grain size and spatial characteristics are now tied to format, scaling with negative area and film stock choice. Each dye layer is fully simulated, responding dynamically based on scene exposure and color content. Previously only available in professional color correction tools, Scout’s film grain engine is a class apart from any phone-based film grain you have ever seen. • New global film format control. Choose Super 16mm, Super 35mm, or Full Frame 35mm for the Scout Film Engine to scale all of its emulation characteristics to that negative area. All looks - both bundled and imported - can now be captured in any format. • Faster response when firing a burst in Scout Pro mode. • Imported LUTs have had their grain, halation, and glow settings updated to allow for compatibility with the global film format control. You may need to update your per-LUT settings. DIRECTOR'S FINDER • Updated gallery to support Sun Position mode captures. NOTABLE BUG FIXES • Fixed a bug where the gallery order could reverse under certain circumstances. • Fixed a bug where recently captured images would not appear in the photo library immediately when developed. • Fixed a bug where burst captures could appear out of order in the iOS Photo Library. • Assorted other bug fixes and usability improvements.

CAMERA MODE • Flash compensation: after a flash capture, an exposure preview and adjustment window will appear prior to image processing. • Updated halation and glow rendering. • Improved image science for motion picture camera emulation. • Usability with Scout Viewfinder disabled has been improved, allowing for better compatibility with older iPhone models. DIRECTOR’S FINDER • You can now generate PDF reports from your Director’s Finder projects. These include contact sheets, vectorized data overlays for easy searching, full page setup and formatting controls, all adjustable to your specific preferences. Designed for printing or sharing digitally, directly from Tech Scout. • Director’s Finder and Exposure Modes are now coupled. Exposure information and settings now track between modes. • Director’s Finder onscreen overlay now shows calculated scene exposure information - FPS, EI, shutter, ND, calculated iris, and white balance. You now see accurate scene exposure onscreen in the camera data overlay. • Gallery has been updated to support both PDF creation and viewing. • The gallery project tray can now be collapsed, and new filters have been added. • Director’s Finder captures now save to Tech Scout Library by default - no more iOS Photo Library clutter. You can automatically import your existing captures at any time. • Scout projects are now easier to share and receive via iOS Messages. • Usability updates and bug-fixes throughout. EXPOSURE MODE • Exposure Mode is now integrated into your current Director’s Finder project, including camera settings, exposure settings, and save directory. • Auto EI feature added: complementary to Auto ND, Auto EI will calculate the ideal ISO for the scene based on a target iris and your camera settings. • Exposure Mode captures are saved in your current Director’s Finder project by default. • Exposure Mode captures can be included in Director’s Finder report PDFs. LOOKS & LUT MANAGEMENT • LUT import workflow has been simplified dramatically. A new “Import LUT” button has been added to setup mode. • LUT files can now be added directly from iOS Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or Files. • Multiple LUTs can now be imported simultaneously. • LUT target color space can be adjusted after import. • Performance improvements for large LUT files.
