This app is Beverly helpful for my volleyball scheduling and for tournament days!!!!
• No Limit Fitness: each House has a No Limit Fitness chat with the club's training partner. Partner accounts see their chats, attendance and athletes' performance tests, and can record new tests.
• Coach accounts are now set up by the club office.
• Club directors can remove a message from any chat.
• Small fixes and improvements.
2.0.51 2d ago
• Check-in: the app now finds your location reliably indoors, so Check in works at the gym even when the first location reading is slow.
• Small fixes and improvements.
2.0.50 4d ago
• Roots Alerts: links in an alert now open when you tap them, and Got it takes you to the Roots Alerts thread in Owl Post so you can find the message again.
• Staff who are also parents: with the Family tab set to My family, Home and Schedule show only your own athletes' events. Switch to My job to see every House.
• No Limit Fitness: if you train with another House's session, Home shows a Check in card while that session is open.
• Small fixes and improvements.
2.0.49 6d ago
• Check-in screen for coaches: on practice and No Limit Fitness days, coaches assigned to the session see a Start card on Home. Start turns the iPad or phone into one check-in screen: athletes type their name, tap it, tap Check in and earn their House point, and the screen is ready for the next athlete. Leaving it asks for the device passcode.
• Small fixes and improvements.
2.0.48 Oct 9
• Extra sessions on your schedule: when the club adds another House's sessions to your athlete's schedule, for example an athlete who helps coach a younger House's practice, those sessions now appear on your Schedule and Home alongside your own House's events.
• Small fixes and improvements.
2.0.47 Oct 9
• Family guests: invite grandparents, relatives or friends to follow your athlete. Open Family, then Family Guests, enter their name and cell or email, choose what they can see (schedule, live games, payments, newsletter, decrees, fundraisers) and send the invite from your own Messages or Mail. They make an account from the link and join your family automatically. Change what they see or remove them anytime.
• Guests get their own simple home: the athletes they follow and only the sections you turned on, and they can add the schedule to their phone's calendar.
• House Stormbark is now House Stormvale.
2.0.46 Oct 7
• See who reacted: in any chat, press and hold a reaction under a message to see the names of everyone who reacted, grouped by emoji. You can also hold the message and choose See reactions. Tapping a reaction still adds or removes your own.
• Add your schedule to your calendar: tap the calendar button on Schedule and subscribe once. Practices, games and fundraiser dates then appear in your iPhone's Calendar, and anything the club adds, moves or cancels updates there on its own. Copy link adds it to Google Calendar or Outlook.
2.0.45 Oct 5
• Fundraisers on your schedule: when your athlete signs up for a club fundraiser, its dates now appear in the Schedule with the time, place and who is signed up. Tap one for directions or to open the fundraiser's group chat.
• Reminders the evening before and the morning of each fundraiser date.
• Same-day events now list in time order.
2.0.43 Oct 3
• New Balance Partnership: browse the ROOTS team collection of game and running shoes and shop the team store, from The Club or Family.
• Pay an Installment: pay a scheduled installment early from Finances. You confirm the amount before anything is charged, and it won't be charged again on its due date.
• Newsletter: every issue of R News, current and past, by year. Search by month or year and tap a cover to read it.
• Coaches: roll call lists only the athletes expected at each session.
2.0.42 Oct 2
• Tournaments: the Roots Scrimmage Play days now appear under Where we're playing, alongside the tournaments your House is entered in.
• Tournaments: the list now shows only the events the Houses are playing in.
2.0.41 Oct 1
• Houses: the Sprout Training Program now shows as one House, with all of its athletes on one roster.
• Schedule: coaches and admins can mark an event Coaches only. It stays off family schedules, and families are not notified.
2.0.40 Sep 30
• Owl Post: hold a message to react with an emoji, or to reply to it.
• Owl Post: hold a phone number someone sends to call, text or copy it.
• Owl Post: tap a photo to see it full screen, or hold it to save it to your phone.
• Decrees: you are notified when a new decree is posted, and tapping the notification opens it.
• The home screen refreshes when you come back to the app.
2.0.39 Sep 24
• Notifications are back: this update fixes a signing problem in 2.0.36 that stopped some phones receiving ROOTS notifications.
• Families now hear when something is added to the calendar, changed, or cancelled — one notice per family, for their Houses.
2.0.37 Sep 19
• The Apple Watch app is rebuilt. Your next event, your House’s place in the Cup, checking in and Owl Post now carry the same Roots look as your phone, sized to read at a glance on your wrist.
• On iPad the app finally uses the whole screen: a side rail to move around, and the Great Hall, Family, Club and Schedule redrawn for it.
• Coaches on iPad get courtside tools — an order of play for a tournament, live scoring, and roll call for a House.
2.0.36 Sep 15
• The Great Hall now shows the House Cup board and the club’s newest photos, so the front page has your House on it.
• The House Cup table shows every House’s crest.
• Every icon in the app is Roots’ own — the tab bar and every gold medallion share one hand-drawn set.
• Screens with nothing on them yet now say what will fill them.
• Schedule: a club-wide session shows once in Upcoming, not once per House, and rows name the venue instead of the street address.
2.0.35 Sep 13
The photo gallery, fixed — and a new Club tab.
• The Club tab is redesigned: your House’s crest and House Cup standing up top, the four things you open most as tiles, and everything else grouped by what you’re doing.
• Tapping an album now opens that album. It could previously open a different one.
• Album covers and photo tiles frame the person properly instead of cutting off the top of their head.
• Photos no longer overlap each other in album grids.
• Photos load far faster, and large albums no longer run the app out of memory.
• Every menu in the app — Family, Settings, Safety, the Coaching Hub — now shares the Club tab’s look.
2.0.34 Sep 11
• The Tournaments list starts with what is coming up soonest and works outward.
• Away tournaments now show the ones your athlete’s House is actually playing, with the date and venue.
• Mute any Owl Post chat — long-press it, or use the switch in Thread info. You stay in the chat; you just aren’t notified.
• Coaches: your House’s chats now sit pinned at the top of Owl Post.
• Signing out now stops that account’s notifications on this phone.
2.0.33 Sep 2
• The Tournaments list starts with what is coming up soonest and works outward.
• Away tournaments now show the ones your athlete’s House is actually playing, with the date and venue.
2.0.32 Sep 2
• Paperwork finished by one guardian now shows complete for everyone attached to that athlete — a second parent no longer has to sign the same documents again.
• The Club screen stops warning about paperwork your family has already done.
2.0.30 Sep 1
• Changing your payment card works. The Change card button used to lead nowhere.
• A game shows LIVE only once YouTube is actually taking the feed, so nobody is sent to an empty stream.
• Live games carry a scoreboard in the corner of the video, built to stay readable on a phone.
• Go Live asks which camera is filming, and the viewfinder turns with the phone.
• Match scores are entered set by set, and the winner comes from the sets rather than being chosen separately.
• Pool standings match the website and the bracket exactly — before, each could show the same pool in a different order.
• Teams appear in their pool from the moment the draw is made, rather than only after they have played.
• A tie the tournament director still has to settle is marked, instead of being ordered silently.
• Impossible scores are refused, and a start time that could not be read no longer shows as “Invalid Date”.
• A guardian with athletes on two Houses can see both.
• Messages reconnect properly after a phone drops signal.
• iPad: the sidebar matches your role, and the recorder and Go Live open there.
• iPad, held upright: the home screen is one clear column instead of three cramped ones — Up Next, your stats and what’s coming all read properly again.
2.0.29 Aug 31
• Tapping a notification now reliably opens what it announced — including Owl Post messages.
• Fitness sessions now appear under the Practice filter and in every calendar view.
• Up Next always names the actual next event, and finished events step aside.
• Sign out and Settings are available for every account type.
• Check-in and billing reliability improvements.
2.0.23 Aug 28
• New Roots Store tab — browse and order ROOTS gear without leaving the app.
• Owl Post: the New Owl list now shows only the staff you can actually write to.
2.0.21 Aug 26
The iPad app has been rebuilt.
• Home now shows what's coming instead of empty space, and the Club and Family screens use both halves of the screen — the list on one side, what you picked on the other.
• Coaches on iPad can reach the Club, Decrees and Timesheets again.
• Recording and going live now work on an iPad held sideways.
• Families with athletes in more than one House now see every House, not just one.
• Small fixes and polish.
2.0.20 Aug 25
• Owl Post now keeps up. Replies appear in an open conversation right away — no more leaving the thread and coming back to see them.
• Families with more than one athlete now see every athlete's House under Club, not just one.
• Small fixes and polish.
2.0.19 Aug 24
• Tap a notification and the app now opens right to it — the message, the announcement, the game — instead of just the home screen.
• Coaches: the recognition categories now match the ones the club uses, and a reason is required so every athlete knows why they earned it.
• Your wallet now labels Roots Coins correctly.
• The Apple Watch reads the same House Cup standings as your phone.
• Small fixes and polish.
2.0.18 Aug 22
• No Limit Fitness: each House has a No Limit Fitness chat with the club's training partner. Partner accounts see their chats, attendance and athletes' performance tests, and can record new tests.
• Coach accounts are now set up by the club office.
• Club directors can remove a message from any chat.
• Small fixes and improvements.
