Work a gold pan at the river — a merge game built on density sorting instead of dropping pieces into a column.
Every tap pulses a swirl through the whole pan. Heavier same-grade nuggets settle toward the center while lighter gravel and silt ride out to the rim — a density-sort centrifuge you drive by hand. When two equal nuggets meet at the core, they merge into the next grade up: silt, sand, gravel, black sand, all the way to the great Motherlode.
The twist is where the merges happen. A merge near the center of the pan scores double, and the swirl is exactly what delivers your heaviest nuggets there. Read the concentric graded sediment rings, time your pulse, and chase the core.
And every grain you pan outlives the run. Your lifetime career total stakes CLAIMS up the river — fourteen named claims in the ledger, each with a permanent perk that feeds back into the pan: finer scoops from the stream, a more forgiving rim lip, a wider ×2 core, richer Motherlodes. Session goals give every run three targets worth chasing, a gold glint surfaces in the sediment for a free strike if you catch it, and your first pan each day is a Fresh Claim day — career pays ×1.5 and a free Flake waits in the pan. Miss a day and your streak pauses; it never resets.
WORK THE WHOLE RIVER. Career grains open six distinct RIVER SITES, each a genuinely different pan: the fast, biting Boulder Rapids where scoops pour in on their own; the icy, forgiving drift of Cold Fork; the deep, roomy Deep Bend that holds more and pays more; the lantern-lit Night Diggings where gold glints far more often; and the merciless, high-paying Flood Stage. Every site keeps its own best score.
And pick your PROSPECTOR'S KIT — a specialization you run one at a time: a Sluice Box that pays huge at the core but runs the rim tight, a Rocker Cradle built for long forgiving runs, or a Snuffer Bottle that chases luck and finer gold. The site you choose and the kit you equip combine into a run that's yours.
