ShowTracker: TV & Movies
Always know what's next
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Always know what's next.
ShowTracker works out the exact next episode of every series you follow, lines them all up in one queue, and waits for a single tap. No account, no ads, nothing leaving your phone.
FREE — ALL OF IT
No subscription, no unlock, no "Pro" tier.
IT OPENS ON THE ANSWER, NOT A MENU
What's Next is the first thing you see: every show with something waiting, as a card you check off in one tap. And it knows what day it is — this morning's drop leads, then the run you're actually in, then everything else that's ready. Underneath, a wall of posters for the next seven days, each carrying its countdown.
ONE TAP, AND IT MOVES ON
Mark an episode watched — instantly, on a plane, with no signal at all — and it advances to the next. Mistapped? Undo is right there. Watched it yesterday and forgot to log it? Put it on the day it actually happened. Finish a season and the app says so, and you can rate it out of ten while it's fresh. That's the whole app.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Most trackers want an account and watch what you watch. ShowTracker doesn't. No sign-up, no analytics, no third-party trackers. Your library stays on your device, mirrored only to your own iCloud. We can't see it, and we never will.
AND IT LEAVES WHEN YOU DO
Export everything — history, ratings, notes and all — to JSON or CSV, and restore it just as completely. A tracker you can walk away from is the only kind worth trusting.
SWITCHING FROM TRAKT OR TV TIME?
Settings › Import takes the export zip exactly as they gave it to you. From Trakt: every episode and film, your rewatches, ratings and watchlist. From TV Time: shows, history and watchlist, matched by database id, so even remakes land right.
ALSO IN THE APP
New-episode reminders that tell you where it's streaming · alerts the moment a saved film starts streaming · a calendar of everything coming · directors, creators and full cast, every name a door to their work · follow anyone and hear about their next one · your own lists · movies, with their own watchlist and ratings · where to watch, rent or buy in your country, and a tap opens the app · millions of titles to search · home-screen widgets · your hours, streak and top genres, by year or across your whole viewing life · fun facts about your own watching — your most-watched show, your biggest day, your fastest finish · what each episode is about, when you ask · notes on any episode, all in one list · skip a season you're not watching · search everything you've added, offline · and On hold, for the ones you set down without dropping.
MADE FOR IPHONE, IPAD AND IPHONE DUO
Native on all three. On iPad the tabs become a real sidebar and the layouts spend the width instead of centring a phone-shaped app. Unfold an iPhone Duo and it spreads across the whole screen; fold it back and everything is where you left it.
Show and movie data is provided by TMDB; streaming availability by JustWatch. This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.
more Only thing missing is Trakt import and an Upcoming or premiering this month in the discover section.
Developer Response Thank you — and two of those three already exist. You're on 1.17: version 1.18 added a gold check on everything already in your library, right on the artwork in Discover, so you can see what you've added without tapping in. And you can mark a whole show or season without opening it — press and hold any show in the Shows tab and choose "Mark up to date" or "Mark season watched". Clearly too well hidden if you didn't find it, which is on me. Trakt import is the one that genuinely isn't there yet; you're not the only one asking.

I can't import from my zip file of TV time nothing also from trackt!!!useless
Developer Response Sorry — that's my fault for not making it clearer. TV Time gives you a ZIP, and ShowTracker asks for the file inside it. Unzip it and pick tracking-prod-records-v2.csv, and your shows, history and watchlist should come across. Trakt import isn't there yet, but you're the third person to ask for it. If the unzipped file still doesn't work, email support@thothi.com.br and I'll look at it personally.

"Life moves pretty fast." — Ferris Bueller's Day Off
ShowTracker 1.34 — fun facts about you, and a faster app all round.
• Fun facts about you. Your most-watched show, your biggest day, the day of the week you watch most, your fastest finish and your top-rated show. The ones about days only count episodes you checked off as you watched them, so an imported history never passes for a binge.
• Faster, everywhere. Stats and Settings open straight away, posters stay put when you switch tabs, and a large import now takes seconds of work instead of minutes.
• A widget that keeps up. Skip a season, pause or archive a show, or check one off on another device, and the home-screen widget follows.
• Imports you can leave. Close Settings mid-import and it carries on, with the result waiting for you. Offline, it stops and says so, and it names anything that couldn't come over.
• A kinder first run. If a pick can't be added during Quick Start, it stays picked with a Try again button, instead of quietly disappearing.
• Smaller fixes. Progress no longer shows a show as complete when episodes are left. Stats and Year in Review now agree on your hours. Empty screens say why they're empty, and the notification prompt waits until the app has opened.
The speed fixes came from someone who took the time to write. Thank you.

"You're gonna need a bigger boat." — Jaws
ShowTracker 1.33 — made for iPhone Duo, and a search for everything you've added.
• Made for iPhone Duo. Unfold it and ShowTracker spreads across the whole screen — your library becomes a list that uses the room, and folding it back puts everything where it was.
• Search your library. Pull down on Shows or Movies and type to find anything you've added, archived shows included. It works offline, and it ignores accents, so "shogun" finds Shōgun.
• Notes, easier to keep. Long-press a note in Your notes to edit, copy or delete it. A long note folds to a few lines with More and Less, and the note editor now opens up to the full screen.
• The keyboard gets out of the way. Tap anywhere outside a text field and it goes away — everywhere in the app.
• Smaller fixes. In What's Next's grid, a short title no longer leaves a blank line under it. And a film synced twice from another device is counted, listed and reminded about once.
Three of these came from people who took the time to write. Thank you.

"Words and ideas can change the world." — Dead Poets Society
ShowTracker 1.32 — read what an episode is about, and find the notes you wrote.
• What an episode is about. Tap an episode's title and its description opens underneath. It stays closed until you ask, so nothing is spoiled by scrolling past.
• Your notes show. An episode you wrote a note on now carries a small mark, and opening it shows your note right there. Before, a note was invisible unless you remembered where you left it.
• All your notes in one place. Once you have written one, Stats has a Your notes list — newest first, a tap opens the show, and a button copies the note so you can post it somewhere else.
• Clearing works. Deleting a note's text, or untapping a score, and pressing Save now actually removes it.
• A cleaner launch. The home screen no longer flashes for a moment before the logo when you open the app.
Four of these came from people who took the time to write. Thank you.

"There's no place like home." — The Wizard of Oz
ShowTracker 1.31 — bring your Trakt history, skip a season, open the app that plays it.
• Import from Trakt. Pick your Trakt export in Settings › Import and your history comes with it: every episode and film, your rewatches, your ratings and your watchlist. Anything you marked watched in bulk on Trakt is dated to when it aired, so one busy evening of ticking boxes does not become your whole year in Stats.
• Skip a season. Not watching that one? Tap Skip on the season and its unwatched episodes stop counting — out of What's Next, out of your progress, no more reminders. What you did watch stays watched, and Unskip brings it all back.
• Where to watch opens the app. Tap a service such as Apple TV or Prime Video and ShowTracker opens that app on a search for the title, instead of a web page.
• Rent or buy. Where to watch now also lists the stores that rent or sell a title, and the free services that carry it — so a film with no subscription home is no longer a blank.
Three of these came from people who took the time to write. Thank you.

"I feel the need… the need for speed." — Top Gun
ShowTracker 1.30 — quicker, tidier, and four things you wrote in about.
• Faster with a big library. If you follow a lot of shows, opening one and going back could stall for a second or two, and a tap could land on the wrong show. That is fixed.
• Upcoming means "has a date". Shows that are coming back with no date announced now have their own section, To be announced, so the dates you are waiting for are not buried under them.
• The archive opens. Tap an archived show to see its page — its episodes, where you stopped — and restore it from there if you want it back. Before, Restore was the only thing a row could do.
• Long shows open tidy. A show with several seasons opens with them folded instead of every episode unrolled, and the new Seasons heading folds the whole list away — handy when there are thirty-eight of them. It stays that way for that show.
• Your stats count what you watched. Archiving a show no longer removes its episodes and hours from Stats, and a finished show you archived still counts as completed. Your numbers may go up; nothing was lost, it just was not being counted.
Four of these came from people who took the time to write. Thank you.

ShowTracker 1.29 — less scrolling to the thing you came for.
• Your next episode is at the top of the show page. Open a show you follow and the episode you're on is right there under Follow, with the check-off — no scrolling past the seasons you've finished. Every season but the one you're in starts folded, and tapping the season name on the card takes you straight to it.
• And when you're caught up, the same spot tells you when the next one airs.
• Discover folds. Every heading on Discover can be collapsed with a tap — the people you follow, the trending rows, all of it — and it stays the way you left it. The people you follow and their new work are one section now instead of two.
The first one came from someone writing in about a show with too many seasons to scroll past. Thank you.

ShowTracker 1.27 — the app now keeps your shows up to date by itself.
• Shows refresh on their own. If a show you follow was still calling an episode “Episode 7” a week after the real title was out, that's because nothing in the app ever went back to check. It does now — when you open the app, when you come back to it, and when you open a show — and only for shows that are actually due, so it stays quick.
• Pull to refresh sees it through. Pulling on Shows and then tapping into a show used to cancel the refresh you'd just started, with nothing to tell you it had happened. It finishes now, whatever you do next.
• Short titles no longer sit over an empty line. Every poster in the grid kept room for a second line of title whether it needed one or not. Chris pointed it out; the room is only there when a title uses it.
• A restore that fails says so. If part of a show couldn't be restored from a backup, the summary now names the show instead of counting it as done.
The grid was Chris's. The first one was ours — found on our own phone, on Ted Lasso, and it had been that way since 1.25.

ShowTracker 1.26 — six things the app knew and wasn't telling you.
• Your ratings turn up where you look for them. You could rate a show or a film and then not find that rating again — your lists, the shows you've finished, your watch log and the poster wall all left it out. They don't now.
• And so does the day you watched something. An episode row says when you watched it, and so does a film you've marked as seen. The app has always let you fix that date; it just never showed it back to you afterwards.
• Shows that are still going have stopped sitting on your finished shelf. If you'd caught up on a series that hasn't ended, it was filed under Completed next to shows that are genuinely over. It now waits with everything else that's coming, marked “Between seasons” — and Completed means finished.
• The Stats charts open up. Every chart there now has a heading you can tap, and behind it is the whole list — all twelve months, every year, all seven days of the week, the quiet ones included. Pick one and you get everything you actually watched in it, instead of only the height of a bar.
• A way back to the shows you set aside. You could archive a show from three different places, and the only way to find it again was buried in Settings. Your library now ends with a way in — and if you've archived everything, the tab says so instead of telling you it's empty.
• You can also see which shows you've silenced. Muting a show was easy to do and impossible to notice afterwards — you had to open its menu to find out. Silenced shows now say so on the row, and only where it changes something: a finished or paused show was never going to remind you anyway.
Four of these six came from someone writing in. Thanks Chris — that's eleven reports across five releases now.

1.26 Sep 6
ShowTracker 1.25 — everything in here was reported by someone using it.
• Shows that are still on stopped saying they had finished. A series with episodes still to come could show up as finished and drop out of your queue — either because the app threw away air dates it already had, or because it missed a new season the schedule already knew about. Both are fixed. Thanks Brenda, who spotted it and then kept checking.
• "Mark watched" is back on films you haven't added yet. If a film wasn't already in your library, the button to mark it watched had quietly gone missing — so the one thing you'd open it to do was the one thing you couldn't.
• Tidier edges, especially on iPad. Artwork on a show or film page now fills its space properly instead of sitting short, the line under a poster follows its rounded corner instead of cutting across it, and the fine outline around artwork is visible in light mode — it had only ever shown up in dark. Thanks Chris.

ShowTracker 1.24 — the first five minutes.
• There's a home-screen widget, and we had never once told you. It shows the next episode waiting for you, and you can check one off from the home screen without opening the app at all. It has been in here for most of the app's life and the only place it was ever described was this page. Settings › Tips & tricks now walks through adding it.
• The people you follow finally live somewhere. You could always follow an actor or a director to hear about their next release — but there was nowhere in the app to see who you'd followed, and no way to unfollow without hunting back through a cast list. Discover now opens with their faces, and a row of what they have out or coming. Long-press a face to unfollow. Thanks Chris — this one had been invisible since the feature shipped.
• Logging something you watched years ago takes one tap. Marking an old film or episode meant walking the date picker back a month at a time — it now offers the day the film came out, or the day the episode aired, right above the calendar. Thanks Chris, who found this one and three more: a tidier Shows header, and a layout button that shows the view you're actually in.
• An empty queue tells you why it's empty. What's Next used to give one sentence to three different situations. Now it says the true one — whether you haven't added anything yet, whether everything you follow is between seasons, or whether you genuinely are caught up.
• And it is no longer empty by mistake. Pick a few shows the first time you open the app and What's Next was still showing you the empty screen underneath it, until you left the tab and came back. It fills in the moment you're done.
• Setting up asks about films too. That first screen offered trending television only, in an app with a Movies tab, a film watchlist and film stats. There's a Shows / Films switch on it now, and anything you pick from the film side lands on your watchlist.

Equipe
• A tela de equipe agora avisa o que acontece antes de você remover alguém: o acesso cai na hora, a conta não é apagada e o que a pessoa cadastrou continua lá.

ShowTracker 1.22 — your lists, your way.
• A list can now be a list, a wall of posters, or full-width artwork. Open any list and tap the layout button at the top to switch — it remembers which you chose. Thanks Chris, all three of these were your idea.
• Discover tells you the year. Every poster now carries it, so a 1990 classic sitting in Top Rated no longer looks like something released this week.
• Settings has a Done button at last, and the add-to-list sheet closes with a tick instead of an X — nothing in there ever needed cancelling.

ShowTracker 1.21 — the things that were quietly broken.
• Your TV Time zip really does import now. 1.20 said it would, and the build couldn't: the app decided what kind of file it had before it opened the zip, so it never saw the export inside. If you tried and got "Couldn't import that file", it works now — same zip, nothing to unpack.
• Following someone now actually tells you. Follow an actor or director and you should hear when they have something new — but the app was filing away their announced-but-undated projects as already seen, so the alert for the very film you followed them for never arrived. It does now, and tapping it opens the film instead of wherever you were.
• An actor who plays two roles is one face in the cast, not two.
• Stats remembers "All time" even if you've only been tracking a few months.
• Sharing a fun fact sends the fact you're actually looking at.
• Adding to a list: pick Shows or Films, and search when the list is long.
• And when something can't be saved, the app says so instead of quietly doing nothing.

ShowTracker 1.20 — you asked, it's in.
• Every genre, both halves. Browsing by genre only knew the TV categories, so horror films — and thrillers, and romance — were missing entirely. Now every genre lists films and shows together, in alphabetical order. Merci, Mlyks.
• Your TV Time zip, straight in. No more unzipping and hunting for the file inside it: pick the zip exactly as TV Time gave it to you and your shows, history and watchlist come across.
• Swipe back from any film or show page. It quietly stopped working on those pages, and now it doesn't. Thanks, Chris.
• What's Next, your way. Switch the queue between the big cards and a poster wall, and sort inside each section by most recent or A–Z.
• Better on iPad. All five tabs fit at last — nothing hidden behind an arrow — and landscape gets a proper sidebar.
• Plus: press and hold anything for its actions, and Tips now says so.

ShowTracker 1.19 — who made this?
• Every film names its director. It's right under the year, and the name is a door: tap it for their filmography, or follow them and hear about their next film the moment it has a date. Thanks, Mike — this one was your idea.
• Every series names its creator. Not a director: a series has a different one almost every episode, so naming one would be inventing a fact. The creator is the honest answer, and it works the same way — tap through, or follow.
• Anyone's page now shows the work they're actually known for. A talk-show appearance no longer outranks the films they made.

ShowTracker 1.18 — the details you asked for.
• Your watch dates, visible and fixable. Check something off and the confirmation now carries a little calendar — "actually, I watched it yesterday" is one tap. A watched film shows its date right on the page ("Watched · Aug 12"), and tapping it corrects it. Your stats stay true to the night you actually watched.
• Already added? Now you can tell at a glance. Everything in your library wears a small gold seal across Discover — no more tapping in just to check. Thanks, Michael.
• Films get two honest buttons. Seen it before you found it? "Watched it already" sits right beside "Add to Watchlist" — no detour through the watchlist.
• Share a fun fact. The card on Stats now shares any fact as a picture — your hours, translated, ready for the group chat.
• Small things that add up: Stats remembers whether you prefer All time or this year, "Add to list" is on every shelf, and VoiceOver now announces what's in your lists.

ShowTracker 1.16 — your library, your way.
• All-time stats. The Stats page now goes beyond the year: pick "All time" and see every hour and episode you've ever logged, plus a new watch-time-by-year chart — your whole viewing life in one picture. Thanks, Michael, for asking on day one.
• Your own lists. Tap "+ List" above your library and group anything — comfort rewatches, date night, winter marathons. Fill a list straight from itself with +, or press and hold any show or film and choose "Add to list".
• Watched date. Forgot to log last night's episode? "Watched on…" puts it on the day it actually happened — your stats stay honest.
• Mark watched from the reminder. New-episode alerts now carry a button — check the episode off without even opening the app.
• And: updates introduce themselves with a quick "What's new" card, and every error screen now has a direct line to a human.

ShowTracker 1.15 — your hours, translated.
• Fun facts. On the Stats page, tap the new card and find out what your watch time actually amounts to: Atlantic crossings, space-station orbits, batches of cookies, complete extended-trilogy viewings. Thirty of them, one tap apart. We count the hours — and we think they were well spent.
• "Premieres" now only appears when a season actually premieres. A mid-season episode says "Airs" — because that's what it does. Thanks again, Brenda: two updates in a row made better by your emails.

ShowTracker 1.14 — What's Next knows what day it is.
• New today. When a season premiere or a fresh episode drops, it leads your queue — above everything — for exactly one day. Episode 167 of your comfort binge is lovely, but it's not news; the episode that arrived this morning is. Tomorrow, everything settles back to normal.
• Coming this week. Right below your queue: a wall of posters for everything premiering in the next seven days, each cover carrying its countdown — "1 day", "4 days". Your whole week, one glance, zero reading.
• Shows that come back now come back. If a series was marked "Ended" between seasons (it happens more than you'd think, especially with reality shows), ShowTracker used to take that as final — the new season never appeared, and the show sat frozen in Completed. Now it checks back and catches renewals on its own. Thank you, Brenda, for the report that led us straight to this one.
• Being caught up finally looks like the win it is: a quiet "you're all caught up" with your week laid out underneath — not an empty screen.

ShowTracker 1.13 — for the shows you set down.
• Put a show on hold. Not every series you stop watching is one you've dropped — sometimes you're just not in the mood, and the app had no word for that. It either kept asking about it under "Not watched in a while", or you archived it and it disappeared. Now you can pause it: it stays in your library with your whole history, in its own section, and simply stops asking. It leaves your queue, your widget, Coming Up and your reminders until you pick it back up — one tap to resume.
• Your iPad gets its own answer. The poster wall is lovely on a phone, and on an iPad it was throwing the room away: the list there shows you the countdown, the full episode title and the check-off button all at once. So iPad now opens as a list and iPhone as posters — and whichever you pick, on whichever device, sticks.
• Bigger covers on iPad for when you do want the wall — fewer, larger posters instead of a stretched phone screen.
• The countdown is back on the poster wall. "Premieres Aug 5" made you do the arithmetic; now the cover itself just says "1 day".

ShowTracker 1.12 — your library, poster-first.
• Your library is a wall of posters now. Shows and Movies open as artwork you actually recognise, because that's how you remember what you're watching — not as a column of titles. One tap in the header flips back to the list whenever you want, per tab, and it remembers which you prefer.
• A new season is news, not a guilt trip. Caught up on a show that just came back? It used to land under "Not watched in a while" — as if you'd neglected an episode that aired yesterday. Now it goes straight to What's Next, where it belongs. A real backlog still says exactly what it always said.
• Pull to refresh got dramatically faster. It used to walk your library one season at a time; now it refreshes several shows at once and fetches only what's actually new. Big libraries, a fraction of the wait.
• Checking something off finally feels like checking something off. The check fills, the progress bar grows into its new place instead of jumping there, and finishing a season stamps a seal. A small thing you do a hundred times a week.
• What's Next takes on the colour of whatever's at the top of your queue — a soft wash of that show's artwork behind the card, changing as the queue moves.
• Light mode got a proper pass: every gold control is now defined for both appearances at once, so nothing washes out on a bright screen.

ShowTracker 1.11 — the queue meets you where you are.
• Started a show at its current season? Your queue now starts there too. Following something mid-run used to drag "up next" all the way back to S01E01 — homework, not tonight's episode. Now it picks up from where you actually watch (skipped an episode in a season you started? that still resurfaces — it's the untouched back catalog that stops jumping the line).
• Reminders now say where to watch: "S02E10 – Cold Harbor airs today on Crave." Open a show's page once and ShowTracker remembers its service for you — no more reminder, then a hunt through your apps.
• The completion moment now happens wherever you finish. "That's a wrap" and season milestones used to appear only from the queue — now the episode list itself celebrates too, Rate button and all, which is where most finales actually get checked off.
• Sort your Completed shelf your way — one tap flips between Recently finished and A–Z, and the choice sticks.
• The widget got lighter on its feet: it reuses the queue the app already worked out instead of re-computing your whole library every hour. Big libraries, same instant glance.
• Small honest fixes: Settings now shows exactly which version you're running, and a movie saved before its poster existed gets its artwork filled in automatically.

ShowTracker 1.10 — it tells you when you can watch, and celebrates when you do.
• Your watchlist now watches the streaming services. When a movie you've saved turns up on one, ShowTracker tells you — "Now streaming: Dune on Netflix" — the moment its daily check notices. You asked that question when you saved the film; now it gets answered. (Toggle in Settings if you'd rather it didn't.)
• Finishing something feels like it now. The tap that completes a season — or wraps a whole show — says so, with its own moment: "Season 2 of The Last of Us complete — 7 episodes."
• Rate it while it's fresh. Every check-off now offers a quick Rate — a 1–10 and an optional note, right there, the moment the episode is freshest in your head. Same ratings as always, just finally asked at the right time.
• Notifications now take you to the right place. Tapping one opens the show or movie it's about, instead of just opening the app.

ShowTracker 1.9 — bring your TV Time history with you.
• Import your TV Time export. TV Time shut down in July and took its export portal with it — if you saved your data before then, that file isn't stranded any more. Open Settings › Import, pick it, and your shows, episode history and watchlist come across.
• Matched properly, not guessed. Shows are matched by database id rather than by name, so remakes and non-English titles land on the right series — and anything that can't be matched is listed for you instead of quietly skipped. (Episodes only: TV Time didn't record enough about movies to match them safely.)
• Importing now shows real progress — a proper bar and a running count, so a big library never looks like it has frozen. Restoring your own backups uses it too.
• Backups now carry everything. Your episode notes, show ratings, muted shows, custom posters, the people you follow and your custom lists all travel with an export — several of them never used to, so a restore quietly returned a smaller library than the one that left. Restoring also keeps the dates you actually watched things, instead of moving them to when they aired.
• Undo no longer costs you a watch. Checking off an episode that was already marked — from the widget, another device, or a double-tap — used to offer an Undo that removed the real watch already there.
• If your iPhone is set to a non-Gregorian calendar (Buddhist, Japanese, Republic of China), every episode used to look as though it had already aired. Dates are now read correctly whatever calendar you use.
• If iCloud ever failed to start, the app could open on an empty library while your shows were safe on the device the whole time. It now always opens your real library, with syncing simply switched off until iCloud recovers.
• "Use air dates for watch history" can be undone straight afterwards, and the Shows tab loads faster with a large library.

Thank you.
