Your tickets now live with your flights. Attach a boarding pass, a PDF, or a photo of a paper ticket to any flight, and it stays with it. The flights you took before you had SkyPocket can come in too. Type one in, scan the barcode on a saved boarding pass to fill the form for you, or import a GPX track. Give any flight a name and tags of your own, then find it again: the logbook now searches names, tags, airports and years, and reads back a year at a time. The lock screen carries more of the flight: where you are going, how far there is left, and how much of the leg is behind you. And three fixes, all from one very thorough reader. Continuing a flight after a force quit keeps the whole route on the map instead of redrawing from the moment you tapped. A Live Activity can no longer appear twice, and there is a way to bring it back if you swipe it away. The time left no longer promises two minutes while you are still five kilometres up: it now knows how long it takes to come down, and how high the airport itself is.

SkyPocket 4.0.2 learns to take "not sure" for an answer. The aircraft walkthrough asks what you can see from your seat, and one honest answer is that you cannot tell. Skipping a question used to end the walkthrough on the spot and hand back all sixty-five types at once. It now moves on to the next question, the way it always meant to, so the barking dog under the floor is finally reachable. Also fixed: the reel's trim handles. Taking hold of the right-hand one snapped your clip down to half a second instead of trimming it. The rest of this release is speed. A long recording holds eighteen thousand fixes, and the flight log, the flight page and the reel were each re-measuring the whole track from scratch, in the reel's case thirty times a second. They work it out once now. The logbook no longer reads every flight you have ever taken before the first frame draws, your photos and clips are weighed off the main thread, and summits either side of the date line have stopped falling off the map.

SkyPocket 4.0.1 teaches its GPS some stubbornness. Some flights never got a fix: iOS would quietly wedge the location session and replay the same stale position as if it were news, while any freshly opened GPS app locked on in a minute. SkyPocket now sees through the replay and rebuilds its GPS from scratch mid-flight. Distance no longer counts parked-at-the-gate jitter as flying, and when the signal is truly gone the cockpit says so plainly: NO GPS SINCE, with the tip that actually helps, a window seat with the phone near the glass. Also new: a RATE SKYPOCKET row in Settings. Ratings are counted per country, so yours genuinely counts.

SkyPocket 4.0 knows what you're flying in. Tell it your aircraft, or let the new walkthrough work it out from your seat: the safety card trick, seats across, engines, windows, even the famous barking dog under the floor. Then the flight explains itself as it happens: takeoff roll, gear up, the sudden quiet a minute after takeoff, cruise at your aircraft's own Mach, descent, landing. Two dozen cabin sounds decoded, and the scary-sounding ones wear a calm NORMAL badge, for the nervous flyer in your row. The cockpit is also yours to arrange now: the new PANEL button hides the tiles you don't need and reorders the rest. Also fixed: GPS refusing to lock on the second leg of a multi-flight day.

The big one. When you land, SkyPocket can now turn the flight into a reel: your route drawing itself over the chart, your records, your photos, clips and notes, in the order they happened. You pick every ingredient, every clip's eight seconds, every scene's pace. 9:16, ready to post. In flight, the tab bar hands over to a flight deck: photo, clip, and a new kind of note that remembers your speed, altitude and the country below at the moment you wrote it. Everything you make waits on the flight's page. A ten-language phrasebook rides along, spoken aloud and working in flight mode: the essentials, a sentence builder that only offers sentences that exist, and the answers to listen for. The chart grew 41,000 named peaks and 3,000 lakes, with a layer panel to tune what you see. Pick a destination for distance to go, live ETA and arrival time. Choose what the lock screen shows.
