Continuous improvements to serve you better! Your application pack: one PDF with your requirements, trips, record and a list of your documents. Your language path: the exam you need and how to take it, with dates and fees where they are published. What it costs: the published fees on your route, added up. Listen: hear practice questions read aloud. Also new: trips from your calendar, a Sunday standing, shortcuts and Siri. A moment to celebrate each requirement you mark as met. Shorter, simpler text across the app. Look for the small "i" across the app: one tap explains what you see.

We're always improving. This update brings bug fixes, better performance and a more polished experience. Rules as of November 2026. We went through every rule again against the official sources and moved the stamp to November. Your count, your route and your progress carry over untouched.

The practice bank more than doubled: 1,026 questions, up from 449. Every new question was written from BAMF's Rahmencurriculum, the syllabus the Einbürgerungstest is set from. A second reader checked each one. Your progress carries over.

Pick English, Türkçe or العربية on the You tab and the whole app switches in one tap. Arabic reads right to left. The practice questions stay in German, like the real Einbürgerungstest, with the translation underneath in your language. The five guides are translated too.

Stage one: the Path tab now opens with the settlement permit, the step before citizenship. See its requirements, with your years counted. Never miss a permit renewal: add the day your residence permit ends and the Dashboard counts down to it, with a reminder to book your extension in time. Tell a friend: know someone on the same road? Send Belong Germany from the You tab in two taps. A warmer coral on your name on the You tab and on the Passport tab.

We're always improving. This update brings bug fixes, better performance and a more polished experience. German rules were checked again for October 2026, and nothing has changed for you.

A new look, built around one ring! THE RING The Dashboard now opens on a ring with one segment per requirement on your route. Green is met, amber is in progress, red is blocked. The number in the middle is how many you have met. Same honest count, one glance. ONE COLOUR PER TAB Path opens in forest and gold, Practice in plum and peach. Every card on every tab is a clear box with a soft shadow. Coral stays on the details: the icon tiles, the chevrons, the buttons. The same colours run through the requirements sheet, the Path and the summary boxes, so a status reads the same wherever you meet it. A SECOND PERSON ON THE SAME IPHONE Add your partner, or another adult, on the You tab and they get their own count: their route, their years, their trips. A trip you took together is logged once and counted for both. Practice, documents, reminders and widgets stay with you. AFTER YOU APPLY Tell the app the day you filed and the Dashboard follows the wait with you: days since filing, BAMF's page on Einbürgerung one tap away, and the updates you log from the Behörde's letters, with a reply window that becomes a date ahead and an alert. No expected date, because none is published. THE GUIDES, ON YOUR IPHONE The five guides from belonggermany.app are a Guides segment on the Practice tab, each dated to the day its facts were checked, readable on a plane. The Practice tab also says how the Einbürgerungstest is booked, with BAMF's finder one tap away. NEWS BY THE LOCAL GERMANY Immigration and citizenship news from The Local Germany inside the app, newest first, with optional alerts that open the story. A fourth widget shows the newest story on your home screen. THE YOU TAB, TIDIED Your situation, what you can complete and your notifications fold behind drop downs. A NEW ICON A B inside the ring, on ivory. Germany. Your answers, trips, documents, practice history and widgets carry over untouched. Nothing leaves your iPhone!

Belong Germany on your home screen, and plan a trip before you book. THREE WIDGETS Where you stand: your residence time so far against the years your route asks for, and the earliest date, exactly as your dashboard says it. Longest stay abroad: your longest single stay against the six month line, logged trips only. Today's five: whether the round is done and your run of days, a tap away. Each shows what the app already holds, run through the same rules, and nothing else. Add them from the home screen or the Lock Screen, or read how on the You tab. PLAN A TRIP BEFORE YOU BOOK Add a trip dated ahead and the trip sheet shows what the days away would do to your continuous residence, on a copy of the real rules. Planned trips sit in their own group on Standing and count for nothing until they have happened. Two new dates on your dashboard: the day after a trip ends, and the day a stay abroad reaches four fifths of the six month line. REMINDERS THAT OPEN WHAT THEY NAME A new Daily 5 reminder, at the hour you pick, quotes one of the questions waiting for you. Tap it and the round opens with that question in it. Tap a date alert and the list opens on that date. A CALMER SETUP Setting up now says why each question is asked, shows your residence count as you set the date and ends with your name and the reminders you want. Nothing is switched on unless you switch it on. Your trips, documents, practice history and review schedule carry over untouched.

449 questions, in the authority's own chapters. A BIGGER BANK, PROPERLY FILED The practice bank has grown to 449 questions, and every one is now filed under the chapter it belongs to. The chapters are the authority's own, taken from the syllabus the Einbürgerungstest is set from, so you study in the same order as the official material. The questions themselves are ours, written from that syllabus and not by BAMF, and they can contain mistakes. FIVE A DAY, AND QUESTIONS THAT COME BACK A new Daily 5 picks the questions you are due to see again, and a run of days counts how long you have kept it up. Miss a day and a banked day covers you rather than wiping the run. Everything you answer feeds a schedule, so a question you keep getting wrong comes back sooner than one you already know. A PROGRESS SCREEN THAT ONLY COUNTS WHAT YOU DID What you hold, where you lose marks and every mock you have sat, on a new Progress screen. There is no score predicting whether you will pass, because nobody can honestly give you one. AN HONEST MOCK, AND WHAT IT LEAVES OUT The mock used to ask 33 questions and call it a full paper. It was not one. Three of the real 33 are about your own Bundesland, each Bundesland writes its own, and this app does not. So the mock now runs the 30 it can honestly ask, at the same pace as the real sitting, and tells you plainly that the others exist and where to get them. It no longer says you would pass, because it cannot know that.

The passport, up close. NEW: THE PASSPORT TAB The German passport as it is: the real cover, the validity, the fee and where to apply, verified with the authority, and what makes it particular, from the Brandenburg Gate hologram to the anthem in the data page. A line under the cover says when you could apply, at the earliest, from the same figures your dashboard reads. YOUR NAME AND PHOTO, AS THE HOLDER Add your name and a photo of yourself on the You tab and the Passport tab carries them, the way the finished document will. Both stay on your iPhone only, never uploaded, never synced. FIVE TABS, GERMANY ON TOP Germany now heads every tab, and the bar went from six tabs to five: News and Practice share one tab with news first, and your Standing sits on the dashboard, one tap from the meter it explains. A DASHBOARD THAT CANNOT OVERPROMISE The headline now reads straight off your meter, so the words can never say more than the bar does. When every requirement on your route is met, the meter says so: your part is done. CHECKED FOR SEPTEMBER The German rules were checked again for September 2026 and nothing shifted under you: five years of residence, German at B1, the Einbürgerungstest, self support, a clean record and dual citizenship since June 2024. The stamp at the top of every tab now reads September 2026.

The biggest Belong Germany update yet. Here is what's inside. NEW: PRACTICE TAB Train for the Einbürgerungstest, the real naturalisation knowledge test. Full 33-question mock tests under the real pass rules (pass at 17), quick rounds, chapter drills and a mistakes deck that re-asks what you got wrong. In German, like the real test, with an English study toggle — and the official BAMF test centre one tap away. NEW: WHAT IF, ON THE DASHBOARD A sandbox on the real rules. Flip a test, marriage or months abroad and see how your finish line would move. Nothing you try is saved. A NEW LOOK The app now opens in Mediterranean, a warm light palette with a coral accent. Midnight, the original dark look, stays one tap away on the You tab. A NEW WAY AROUND The tabs now live in one floating lane at the bottom, with Practice in its own place. RULES REFRESHED FOR AUGUST 2026 The Germany snapshot carries the August 2026 stamp: the uniform five year route, the three year spouse route, the B1 German and Einbürgerungstest requirements, dual citizenship since June 2024 and the current processing outlook. COMING UP Immigration and citizenship news with The Local Germany is in the works, and a Belong Germany account — one subscription across iPhone and web — arrives in Q3 2026.

A NEW LOOK! If you want it. Head to the You tab and pick your appearance: Midnight, the classic dark theme, or Mediterranean, a warm light theme with a coral accent. Every screen adapts instantly and your choice is remembered. Everything else stays exactly as you know it: your distance, your path, your standing in Germany.
