Vernac 1.2 moves your media to App Store Connect's new Asset Library, adds iPhone Duo and the new product page art, and keeps working while you're away. IPHONE DUO AND THE NEW MEDIA SLOTS • Screenshots and app previews now use App Store Connect's Asset Library, with every size it lists — including iPhone Duo's inner and cover displays and both iPhone sizes with Dynamic Island. • Add a product page header and a search results image or video for each language — or one file for both. • Each file is uploaded once and reused wherever it's needed: across sizes, languages and later uploads. • See which sizes are required, and which become required later, right beside each slot. • When you replace media, Vernac can also remove the old files from your Asset Library once nothing else uses them. SMARTER CHECKS • Check Compliance now spots text in the wrong language — English left in a German field, Spanish in a Portuguese one — checked on your Mac. • Too long for the limit? On a Mac with Apple Intelligence (macOS 26 or later), Fit with Apple Intelligence suggests shorter versions written on your Mac, each checked against the limit, your glossary and the listing rules, with a translation back into your own language. • Translation uses Apple's higher-quality on-device models where your Mac has them, and checks that every glossary term comes through exactly as written. WORKS WHILE YOU'RE AWAY • Translate All runs in the background with live progress — keep working, or stop it at any time. • On macOS 26 and later, translation works with Vernac's window closed. • Vernac keeps your Mac from idle-sleeping while an upload, publish or translation runs, and lets it rest again the moment the work is done. • Get a quiet notification when a long job finishes while you're in another app. Turn it off at any time. SIRI AND SHORTCUTS • Ask "Vernac status" or "Check compliance in Vernac", or open an app in Vernac from Shortcuts. • "Translate all languages in Vernac" asks first, then runs Translate All — the translations wait for your review. • "Publish my changes in Vernac" reads back what it would write, and publishes to your draft only after you say yes. MORE LANGUAGES, BETTER COUNTS • Adding Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Slovenian, Tamil, Telugu or Urdu to a listing now works, with the codes App Store Connect expects. • Counts read naturally in every language Vernac speaks. POLISH • Publish and Transfers stay in the toolbar of a narrow window (macOS 26.1 and later), and a new Listing menu holds Refresh, Check Compliance and Publish. • On macOS 27, the media and Game Center switchers appear as tabs. • On macOS 27, drag screenshots and app previews into order with the system's own drag, and drop files from Finder exactly where they belong. • Handing Vernac a folder never opens a second window. FOR YOUR AI ASSISTANT • New tools for creative assets and every media size, on-device shortening and notifications. • Cancelling a job now stops a video mid-upload — or a translation waiting on a download — right away. • Your assistant's connection survives a keychain hiccup: its access token is never replaced behind your back. APP PREVIEWS • Add app previews for every language, right beside your screenshots. • Each video is checked against Apple's requirements before anything is sent — length, size, frame rate, format and audio — with exactly what to change. • Pick each preview's poster frame with a frame-accurate scrubber. TRANSLATE, THEN CHECK • Translate All fills every language in one pass — and one step undoes it. • Check Compliance finds price wording and product names where App Review won't accept them, in every language — including ones a translation brings back. • A keyword budget under every Keywords field shows where your 100 characters go; Tighten reclaims the waste. • A glossary keeps your brand words exactly as written through translation. • Mark Reviewed confirms machine or assistant text in one click. Only you can. • Every field can be localized, left as it is, or kept the same in every language — App Name and your URLs start out the same everywhere. YOUR WORK, KEPT SAFE • Excluding a language or changing a field's setting never deletes what you've staged — it's held, and comes back. • Switching keys, opening the sample data or quitting asks before anything unpublished would be lost. • Publishing re-reads your draft afterwards: what landed is done, anything that didn't stays ready to retry, and Refresh keeps everything you've staged.
