New: Siri & the Shortcuts app Control your TV without even opening Demote. Add remote actions to Siri and the Shortcuts app — Open TV Remote, Volume Up, Volume Down, Mute, and Play/Pause — and run them by voice, from the Lock Screen, or inside your own automations. Also in this update - A more reliable Now Playing timeline: the scrubber stays connected, shows the live playback time, and no longer leaves the playhead stranded or shows a position when nothing's playing. - Better device discovery — Demote now recognizes more streaming boxes and smart TVs on your network, so it's more likely to find your device the first time. - More polite casting — Demote no longer interrupts what's already playing on your TV, joining a session only when you reach for the timeline. - Assorted stability fixes for connecting, reconnecting, and staying paired.

Demote no longer interrupts a cast that's already playing on your TV. The playback timeline now waits until you touch it before joining the session, so whatever's on screen keeps playing. Also includes small stability improvements to TV connections.

Siri Shortcuts. Say "Hey Siri, mute the TV" — or open the remote, change the volume, and play or pause, all without unlocking your phone. Add them to Shortcuts, automations, or the Action button. A faster cold start. The app no longer spins up Cast machinery it doesn't need on launch, so the remote is on screen and ready noticeably sooner. Straight back to your TV. If a reconnect is already in flight when you open Demote, it opens on the remote instead of making you pick your device again. A better button builder. Custom buttons now lay out on a single grid, panes run edge to edge at the top of the screen, and "neutral" is a real color choice. Fixes: TVs no longer power off from the idle keepalive nudge, the OK key works on Vizio SmartCast, and a handful of connection hangs and races are gone.
