Shuffles land on the deck again Turning the phone mid-game could leave the shuffle, the cut and every deal playing in the wrong corner of the screen for the rest of the game. They follow the deck now, whichever way you rotate. Also fixed • Begin is greyed out while a player is still arriving, instead of looking live and doing nothing when tapped • Accept, Decline and Block no longer break mid-word on smaller phones

See each other while you play
Video chat has come to iPhone and iPad. Turn your device sideways in a multiplayer game and tap the camera button in the top bar — you will get a strip down the left side of the screen and the table lays itself out beside it, so nothing is covered. Tap any tile to reveal its controls: mute yourself, switch your camera off, or hide or mute another player. Would rather not be on camera? Turn yours off from your own tile and the call carries on without it. Play with your phone held upright
The whole game now works in portrait on iPhone. The board sits across the top and each player gets a full-width row — name, hand and played cards side by side. Turn the phone whenever you like and the table follows; the hand you are in is never interrupted. Hints for everyone at the table
When you create a multiplayer game you can now allow the hint button for the whole room. Everyone gets the same help, so it stays fair. Those games are not ranked, and anyone joining one is told so before they sit down. You will know when there is an update
The app now tells you when a new version is on the App Store, along with a note on what changed. If you would rather not go yet, Later puts it away until tomorrow. Rarely an update will be required. Also fixed
• The victory confetti now actually appears when you win
• A room no longer disappears when everyone's connection disconnects at the same moment
• A voice call that never connected now retries instead of sitting on "connecting" forever
• A seat reads "Joining…" until that player can really see the table, and the host cannot deal until everyone has arrived

• Returning to a game you were already in no longer asks for its password a second time
• The "Waiting for Host" banner no longer bounces while it pulses
• The game log, chat and video panels now hang below the top bar instead of covering it, so you can switch between them in a single tap

Free online games every week Free accounts now get five online multiplayer games a week. They reset every Monday at midnight, and the app tells you how many you have left whenever you create or join a game. Games against the computer stay unlimited. The Hint button is where you can actually reach it On iPhone the hint icon could be tucked behind the player pill and the header, so it was neither visible nor tappable. It's now a labelled Hint pill on the card picker, beside the collapse arrow. If you'd rather not be offered the answer, you can switch it off in Settings → Gameplay Options. Counting starts sooner The first hand turns face up about a second earlier after the cards come back, instead of leaving you looking at a still table. A note on stats Your online record, rank and place on the leaderboard are now part of Cribbage Club membership. Games against the computer are still tracked for everyone — and if you join the Club, your online history is waiting for you. Nothing was deleted. Also fixed • Score numbers could occasionally appear as "…" instead of the points • A hand that counts zero now flashes the score like any other • The score-breakdown icon waits for its own cards to finish turning over • Voice and video chat now say so when they aren't available on your plan • Steadier peg highlight on the iPad board

This update adds a hint lightbulb to games against the computer. Tap it while you are deciding what to throw, or which card to play, and it will tell you what it would do, what the choice is worth, and why — in plain English, with the runner-up shown so you can see how close the call was. Discard hints are available in two, three and four player games; play hints are available in two player games. The computer plays a stronger game as well. It now picks its discards by working out what a keep is really worth across every card that could still be cut, what the two cards it throws are likely to be worth in the crib, and how the hand is likely to peg — so it no longer hands you a five for your own crib. Three and four player games use crib figures worked out for their own table size instead of borrowing the two-player ones, and the computer's opening lead has been corrected: it now leads a low card that cannot be answered with a fifteen, rather than one that can.

Fixes for multiplayer games: • "Go" now shows for every player who says it. In 3- and 4-player games, when a single card blocked two players at once, one of the two "Go" animations could be missed — most often your own. • The count now stops at the win. Previously, once someone reached 121, the remaining hands and the crib still turned face-up even though they could no longer be counted.
