ExamTeX: AI Flashcards & Exams
Lecture Recorder & Quiz Maker
Free
Record a lecture and get AI flashcards and a practice exam from it. It's transcribed on your device, so the audio never leaves it. Then study with spaced repetition.
Record a lecture and ExamTeX turns it into AI flashcards and a practice exam, so you study what was actually taught in class.
ExamTeX is a lecture recorder, flashcard maker and quiz maker in one study app. Your lecture is transcribed right on your device, the audio never leaves it, and every card and question comes from your own course, not a generic question bank.
RECORD THE LECTURE
• Tap record in class, or import an audio file you already have.
• Transcription runs on your device. The recording is deleted once it's transcribed, and an imported file stays where it was.
• Turn the transcript into a flashcard deck or a practice exam. Or save it and combine several lectures into one deck before the exam.
• Recording keeps going with the screen locked.
STUDY WITH SPACED REPETITION
• Flashcards are scheduled with the SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm, so each card comes back just before you'd forget it.
• Rate each card Again, Hard, Good or Easy. Tapped the wrong one? Undo it.
• Your memory score and study streak show how you're doing.
• Quiz yourself on any deck with multiple choice. Tap an answer and the quiz moves on by itself. You can go back and change an answer until you see your results.
TAKE PRACTICE EXAMS
• Take an exam timed or in practice mode, with a progress bar that shows how far along you are.
• Multiple-choice questions are graded automatically when you finish. For open questions, compare your answer with the worked solution and grade yourself.
• Leave halfway through and pick up where you left off.
• Afterwards, turn the questions you missed into a new flashcard deck.
MATH THAT LOOKS RIGHT
Fractions, exponents, integrals and Greek letters render properly on cards, questions and solutions, so STEM courses work as well as essay subjects.
ALWAYS KNOW WHAT'S DUE
• A home-screen widget shows how many cards are due.
• Optional daily reminders help keep your streak going.
• Share any deck with classmates as a link.
YOUR LIBRARY, IN SYNC
Already use ExamTeX on the web? Sign in to find your decks, exams and study podcasts here, with progress synced both ways. Podcasts keep playing when the screen is locked, and you can control them from the lock screen.
YOUR DATA, YOUR CALL
• Start right away as a guest, without signing up. Create an account with Apple, Google or email when you want to keep your work.
• Lecture audio stays on your device. Only text is sent to make your cards (your transcript, or the questions you missed), and only after you allow it.
• Delete your account and all your data at any time from Profile.
ExamTeX works for any course with lectures, including biology, economics, law, medicine, engineering and history.
AI-generated cards and questions can contain mistakes. You can report any of them from the ⋯ menu.
