Steadwick keeps your computer awake with a single click. It is a lightweight menu bar utility that stops your display and system from going to sleep. Turn it on for presentations, downloads, and long renders.
Steadwick gives you two modes. Display & System keeps both your screen and your machine fully awake. System Only lets the display turn off while the system stays awake. You can set a timer for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours. You can also run Steadwick with no time limit until you switch it off.
The menu bar shows your status at a glance. A filled flame means your computer is being kept awake. A hollow flame means it can sleep normally. While a timer runs the popover shows a live countdown so you always know how much time is left.
Steadwick works through a public, documented system function. It is the same mechanism the system itself uses during video playback or a running backup. Steadwick releases its hold the moment you switch it off. It also lets go when the timer ends or when you quit the app. Your computer then returns to its normal sleep behavior.
