SET UP WITHOUT THE REMOTE Your TV asks you to approve the connection on its own screen — awkward if the remote is the thing you've lost. It turns out any USB mouse or keyboard plugged into the TV can answer it: click Yes, or use the arrow keys and Enter. The app now shows you how, with a picture. The button underneath the TV can't answer that request, so the app no longer suggests it. It does still switch the TV on, and it still says so where that's what you need. If the TV's request disappears while you're hunting for a mouse, there's now a button to bring it straight back.

NO MORE POINTLESS SEARCHING Your TV can only be reached over Wi-Fi. If your phone is on mobile data, the app now says so immediately — and points you at the quickest way to switch — instead of searching for fifteen seconds and then reporting that it found nothing. Turn Wi-Fi on and come back: the app picks it up and starts looking on its own.

EASIER TO GET CONNECTED If the app can't see your TV, it now explains why instead of leaving you guessing — the three things that actually cause it, and how to fix each one. Lost your remote? That's the awkward one: your TV asks you to approve the connection on screen. The app now shows you how to answer that using the small joystick button underneath the TV, so you can get set up without the remote at all. Also: better support for larger text sizes throughout.
