Smile puts a small, kind pause between you and the apps that pull you in. Choose the apps you want to guard. When you open one, Smile asks for a little ritual first, and only then lets you in, for a while. THREE RITUALS, ONE PER APP • Smile: a genuine smile at the camera (and, if you like, a kind word said aloud) • Breathe: a few slow breaths on a calm blue screen. Silent, so it works in public. • Honesty: say the honest sentence out loud before the app opens. You pick the ritual for each app. A quick scroll gets Breathe; a real time-sink gets Honesty. BUILT TO BE GENTLE, NOT PUNISHING Smile isn't about locking you out. Every time you meet a shield you get a choice, and walking away is always an option, and the app quietly notices when you do. WATCH THE PATTERN CHANGE Your journal fills in as you go: how often you knocked, how often you walked away, and a simple two-week picture so you can see the pull loosening. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything stays on your device. Your face and voice are processed on-device, in the moment, and never stored or sent anywhere. Smile has no account, no ads, no tracking, and makes no network requests. Apple's Screen Time framework means Smile never even learns which apps you chose.
