Mac
Videre — Latin for “to see” — is the fast, lightweight way to view your photos and videos on the Mac. One app for everything, with zero clutter.
Open a single image and Videre instantly lets you browse the whole folder it lives in. Flip through hundreds of photos and clips with the arrow keys, zoom with a scroll, and play videos with full controls — all in one clean window.
Videre was born from a simple frustration: getting home from a trip and wanting to flip through the memories was a chore. I just wanted one fast, simple place to browse photos and videos from the same folder — including big HEIC shots straight off an iPhone — without switching tools. So I built exactly that. The last media viewer you'll ever need.
SUPER FAST & LIGHTWEIGHT
• Photos appear instantly
• Only a few megabytes, launches in a blink, easy on memory and battery
PHOTOS & VIDEOS, TOGETHER
• Images and videos side by side in one viewer, with a built-in video player
• No more bouncing between different apps
EFFORTLESS BROWSING
• Open a single file and browse all its neighbors automatically
• Move between files with the arrow keys or jump straight to any item in the sidebar
• A counter like “3 of 120” always shows where you are in the folder
• Zoom with ⌘ + mouse wheel or trackpad pinch, pan by dragging, double-click to fit
SLIDESHOW MODE
• Start a hands-free slideshow with one click from the toolbar
• Configurable interval — 2, 3, 5, or 10 seconds per image
• Videos play fully before advancing to the next item
MADE FOR THE MAC
• Light and dark mode that feels right at home on macOS
• Choose from additional colored themes to customize your app experience
• Set Videre as your default viewer for exactly the formats you want
• Privacy-by-design: no tracking, no data collection. Videre only opens the files you choose (fully sandboxed by macOS) and nothing ever leaves your Mac.

• Images: JPEG, PNG, HEIC, GIF, TIFF, BMP, WebP
• Videos: MP4, QuickTime (MOV), M4V
