Feiyu Pinyin IME: Private
Fully offline, no tracking
Only for iPhone
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Fully offline, no tracking. New: domain dictionaries (real estate, coding, astronomy…) and a * + / number pad. Plus T9, cursor mode, clipboard history and 20 themes.
Feiyu Pinyin IME is a privacy-focused Chinese Pinyin input method powered by a self-developed local engine. It runs entirely offline with zero network access - no tracking, no data collection, no uploads.
Smart Pinyin Guidance
As you type, valid next letters are highlighted while invalid ones fade, helping you navigate the keyboard faster. Combined with phrase prediction and a large local dictionary, your typing is smooth and efficient.
Flow Commit (experimental)
Confirmed words commit automatically - no need to tap each candidate, and words commit as whole units instead of being split. Choose a Conservative / Standard / Aggressive tier; enable it in Settings, with a free trial for non-subscribers.
9-key (T9) & 26-key Layouts
Both a full 26-key QWERTY layout and a 9-key (T9) grid are supported - long-press the 中/En key to switch. T9 decoding runs entirely on-device, with full / abbreviated / mixed pinyin, syllable selection and segment-by-segment commit.
Self-developed Local Engine
All pinyin conversion, phrase matching, and prediction happen on-device. No cloud dependency means zero network latency and absolute privacy.
QWERTY + Swipe Typing
Full QWERTY layout with swipe-to-type support and dual-label keys (letters + numbers). Backspace swipe gestures for clearing or batch deleting text, and swipe down to undo a deletion.
Advanced Features (some are membership perks, with a free trial)
• Cursor mode: long-press a trigger key (G on 26-key / ' on punctuation / 5 on 9-key) and drag to move the cursor
• Clipboard history: long-press the space bar to bring up copied text and tap to insert it
• One-handed mode: shrink the keyboard to one side; swipe the space bar to switch hands
Beautiful Themes
20 premium keyboard themes (free + membership) - all keys change color instantly when you switch.
Popup System
Long-press a/e keys for punctuation popups, l key for emoji - all in an 18-cell grid layout.
Absolute Privacy
Unlike keyboards that require "Allow Full Access", Feiyu Pinyin IME works without it. The keyboard extension has zero network capability - system-enforced isolation means your keystrokes stay on your device.

more • The "Keyboard Layout" entry now sits at the top of Settings, with 26-key / 9-key shown as cards with mini keyboard previews — tap to jump straight into each setting
• 26-key settings consolidated: "Dim other keys", "Enlarge keys" and "Letter case" are now grouped under "Key guidance"
• Font size is unified into a single "Keycap label" slider that adjusts every key's main label at once
• 9-key layout polish: the standard bottom row is now "ABC/Chinese · punctuation · space · logo", and backspace deletes one letter at a time (fixed a bug that wiped the whole syllable)
• 9-key "Compact" is renamed "Minimal", and column widths are now evenly aligned
• Hiding secondary labels now works in 9-key too, and the candidate bar can be made even shorter
• 26-key Chinese mode now shows Chinese candidates first instead of letting English words push them down
3.3.2 5d ago
• New Domain Dictionaries: 15 optional word packs — real estate, architecture, coding, astronomy and more. Type the full pinyin and the term appears right away. They stay on device and never mix into your learned dictionary
• Reworked 9-key number pad: the first column is now * + /, the syllable-break key becomes minus, and the bottom-left key uses a clearer back arrow
• Number pad fixes: results now refresh after backspace, and tapping "+" no longer pops open the kaomoji panel
• The candidate bar no longer inserts stray dots — long numbers, dates and times show exactly as they are
• 26-key layout: long-press Shift to jump straight to the number pad (a "123" hint sits under the key); fixed the letter G occasionally failing to type
• Smoother typing and launch: the engine stays resident instead of rebuilding, so the keyboard appears faster and keeps up while you type
• Lighter app colors throughout, and the purchase page now shows its perks as swipeable cards so you can scan every highlight at a glance
• More flexible letter casing: new "Auto Uppercase / Auto Lowercase" options in Settings let the keys show lowercase even in Chinese mode, and Shift temporarily switches to uppercase and commits it
• The "cursor" hint under the G key on the 26-key layout is now smaller, keeping the keyboard cleaner
• The kaomoji key on the 9-key layout no longer wraps its icon in parentheses, keeping the key face cleaner

3.3.0 Oct 11
• Punctuation that reads the room: tapping a punctuation key commits your top candidate first, then adds the mark; full-width and half-width punctuation now follows the text around it (turn it off in Settings for always full-width)
• Smarter 9-key gestures: swipe up on a number key to commit that candidate, swipe down to type digits; the second-row, first-column key adapts — it shows the syllable when you have one, and opens the kaomoji panel when you don't
• Feel and sound: with Full Access enabled you can tune key haptic strength, and unlock two self-synthesized sound packs — Warm Wood and Glass; sound previews now match the real keystroke, with new audition samples in Settings
• Faster and steadier typing: long-sentence composition on the 9-key is snappier; typo correction on the QWERTY is more accurate; the kaomoji key responds instantly; long-pressing "5" no longer types a stray digit
• Refinements and stability: swipe-to-delete is available to everyone; fixed a case where deleted pinyin could reappear; Redeem code, Full Access status and Support entries now live on the home screen and in Settings; in-keyboard hints can be turned off entirely
3.2.0 Oct 7
• Smarter long-sentence typing: the 9-key candidate bar now surfaces the characters and words that make up your sentence — tap any to commit it and keep typing
• Learns your picks: words you commit jump to the front next time — the more you pick them, the higher they rank
• Reliability: fixed an issue where learned words could occasionally be lost when the keyboard is recycled
3.1.4 Oct 2
• More accurate 9-key (T9) input: fixed common words / full sentences failing to surface and junk candidates crowding out real words; phrase & sentence hit-rate further improved
• Smoother typing: eliminated per-key lag on 9-key — rapid typing no longer drops keys or stutters
• Smarter typo correction: nearby-key mistypes are auto-corrected, and the keyboard learns your correction habits over time
• Nice touches: double-tap the period key to turn the last comma into a period; full-width / half-width punctuation switch
3.1.3 Oct 1
• More accurate 9-key (T9) input: improved candidate generation so common phrases (especially 3-character words) are easier to type and more words surface correctly; phrase hit-rate rose significantly (from ~88% to ~95%)
• Smoother & more stable: better performance for long sentences / long digit strings, and tighter keyboard-extension memory usage — no lag or crashes during extended typing
• Various stability and experience improvements

• Fixed: common dictionary words (e.g. "如果") were wrongly tagged with the self-learned「学」badge — now only your own non-dictionary words get the「学」mark
• No more "keyboard height is adjustable" confirmation popup on every keyboard launch (a gentle, non-blocking hint appears once on first launch after install/update)
• Keyboard usage guide expanded: added cursor mode, flow-commit, clipboard history and one-handed mode
• Various stability and experience improvements
