Fry and young koi grow a full day with each one. Adult koi can also gain more finish and length than usual that day. Rehoming has no daily limit anymore. Send off as many koi as you like, anytime. The pond can now grow further. After Big pond, it expands step by step to 24, 30, 36 and 42 koi, and the swimming area grows with it. Rankings: new "Top koi" tab. Koi you enter in a show while signed in to Game Center are listed one by one.

The koi show has been rebuilt, and world rankings are here. Shows are now judged the way real koi shows are, on four points: body, quality, pattern, and finish. Scores are out of 100, to one decimal place. Each result comes with a breakdown and the judges' comments. Koi keep growing after they reach adulthood. Keep feeding them and their length grows toward the limit of their bloodline. The fewer koi in the pond, the bigger they grow. Your daily care shows up in the score as finish. Build and skin quality are now passed from parent to child, so pairing good parents leads to higher scores. Compete with ponds around the world on Game Center. The koi that earned each score appears in the rankings too: tap a row to watch it swim in the tank. There are two rankings: All-time, for your best score ever, and This week's show, which resets every week. A new top award has been added: Supreme Champion. 20 new varieties: Ki Utsuri, Ai Goromo, Koromo Sanke, Koromo Showa, Kage Shiro Utsuri, Kage Showa, Kigoi, Karashigoi, Aka Muji, Aka Bekko, Ki Bekko, Goshiki Sanke, Tancho Showa, Yamabuki Ogon, Platinum Ogon, Orange Ogon, Hariwake Ogon, Sakura Ogon, Kikusui, and Kin Ki Utsuri. 11 new phantoms: Raden, Kintsugi, Seigaiha, Fujinami, Ajisai, Manjushage, Hotaru, Hanabi, Asanoha, Amanogawa, and Nishiki. Pairings of the new varieties call the new phantoms. Earlier best records get a new score when you re-enter the show. Awards already won are kept.

The pond has been rebuilt in 3D. Look straight down, from an angle, follow a single koi, or dive beneath the surface. Switch views to watch your koi from any angle. From above, pinch to pull back and take in the whole pond, and drag to look around. Swimming has been rebuilt too. Koi read each other's paths and slip past one another, picking up food as they swim through. Some are easygoing, some are greedy, some come over to greet you. Every koi swims its own way. They lay the dorsal fin flat at speed and paddle with their pectoral fins when they stop. The seasons now drift on the water: cherry petals in spring, green maple leaves in summer, red maple leaves in autumn, and fallen camellias in winter. The Hall of Fame is now a special pond of black lacquer and flowing gold. Leave it for a while and the view drifts on its own. New varieties: Ochiba Shigure, Karasugoi, Kin Showa, Gin Shiro, and Matsuba. New phantoms join them: Ryusui, Momiji, and Tsukiyo. The Shop now offers koban pouches, and a Big Pond that lets you keep more koi. Now available in Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. The app also starts faster.

The koi have been redrawn. Rounded bodies. Individual scales. Fins the water shows through. A wet sheen along the back. Ginrin scales now glitter, and Ogon and Kujaku return a metallic light. The net pattern of Asagi and Matsuba follows the scales, and Shusui carries its row of large scales along the back. The water has changed too. Soft light falls from the surface. Koi near the top look vivid, while those that dive sink into the color of the water. Swimming now has rhythm: a few strokes, then a long glide, with the pectoral fins spreading to steer. The koi in the Hall of Fame tank are fully three dimensional. When they turn, they show you their face before swimming away. Koi shown in lists and in the field guide are drawn the same new way. Also fixed: some phantom koi were shown with black fins or a black body.

New blood has entered the pond. Kujaku, Kin Matsuba, Hi Utsuri, Kumonryu. Four varieties join the field guide: the fine net that surfaces over golden scales, the black body whose hi carries no white. Forms that were once lumped together now carry names of their own. And three more phantoms: Akanesasu, Soka, Sazanami. New lore waits at the back of the guide. The field guide now holds twenty-seven. Also fixed: the sumi markings that were missing from some sample cards in the field guide.

The phantom koi have evolved. Compatible Blood: decode the lore in the Field Guide to call phantoms from two bloodlines Phantom origins shown: inherited, mutation, or called by the blood Field Guide renewed: sample patterns for every variety from the start, with a seal stamped on registration Koi Market: "Not in your Field Guide" tag on named bloodlines; every variety can now appear
