Til Know is a language app for people who want to actually use what they learn. Pick your language and level, build your vocabulary, write words by hand, understand any sentence word by word, and practise real conversations with AI that checks your answers.
20 LANGUAGES
Arabic, Chinese, French, Georgian, German, Hebrew, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Kyrgyz, Mongolian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Urdu and Vietnamese. Choose the one you're learning and your current level (HSK, TOPIK, JLPT or CEFR, whichever fits the language), and everything in the app is calibrated to it.
VOCABULARY YOU HAVE TO EARN
A built-in word list for each language, with example sentences, audio and your own notes. A word only counts as learned after you write it twice: once with the letters as a hint, once from memory. No tapping "learned" and moving on.
WRITE BY HAND
Write words and whole sentences with your finger. Til Know reads your handwriting on the device, shows which characters or words you got right, and lets you trace first and write from memory second. Works for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Thai, Georgian and more. Handwriting recognition needs an iPhone or iPad.
SENTENCE LAB
Paste or write any sentence and see it broken down piece by piece: each word with its transcription, a literal gloss, and a note on the grammar that isn't obvious. Type in your own language and see how to say it in the language you're learning. Scan text with the camera, pick a photo, or open a file.
WORD LAB
Look up any word, even in another language, and get meanings, example sentences, a short text and a dialogue that use it, plus Word DNA: where it comes from, how it's built, and a hook to remember it. Write the word by hand to search for it.
SCENARIO PRACTICE
The AI invents a new realistic situation every time. Say something, respond to someone, describe what happened, give your opinion or explain something in your own words. Every answer gets feedback on naturalness, completeness and grammar, not just right or wrong.
GRAMMAR
Grammar organised by level, with worked examples. Check your own translations against an independent one, and rephrase sentences in your own words.
REAL CONTENT FEED
Read real posts from Bluesky, Mastodon and YouTube in the language you're learning, and get any post explained: vocabulary, grammar and a summary. Or add your own text, article or video and have it explained too.
LISTEN AND SPEAK
Hear any word or sentence read aloud, and practise speaking with dictation that checks what you said.
YOUR AI, YOUR CHOICE
Til Know works with Apple Intelligence on supported devices, which is on-device and free. If you want bigger models, add your own API key for Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek or Qwen, or run a local model. Your keys stay in the device Keychain. There's no account and no markup.
YOUR PROGRESS, EVERYWHERE
Words, notes and history sync privately through iCloud. A home screen widget shows your word of the day and progress. Text size and audio are adjustable.
Til Know has no ads and no tracking.
