Symposium connects wirelessly to your Calibre content server so you can browse, search, and download books from your entire library — on iPhone and iPad. Full metadata, series, tags, covers, and ratings synced from your Calibre database over your local network.

WIRELESS CONNECTION OVER BONJOUR
Symposium automatically discovers your Calibre content server on your local Wi‑Fi network. No cloud account required. Enter a host and port manually when connecting over the internet or on a custom network. Supports Calibre’s default Digest authentication and Basic auth.
FULL CALIBRE LIBRARY BROWSING
See your Calibre library the way you organized it: series, tags, ratings, and descriptions. Search across your catalog. Browse by author, tag, series, and newest additions. Group your offline library by series. Select New & Changed surfaces books added or updated since your last visit.
OPDS CATALOGS
Browse and download from OPDS 1.2 and OPDS 2.0 catalogs — Standard Ebooks, Project Gutenberg, and your own custom OPDS URLs. Search within catalogs and save downloads to your offline library.
OFFLINE LIBRARY
Download EPUB and PDF books to your device for offline reading. Organize downloads into custom collections (shelves). Manage storage from Settings. Your books remain in Calibre — Symposium keeps local copies for reading on the go.
READING & SYNC
Read EPUB and PDF books in-app with 10 built-in reading themes. Optional sync (with Calibre credentials) keeps EPUB reading positions and star ratings in sync with your Calibre library. PDF positions stay on device. Optionally sync collection names and memberships across your devices via iCloud (Settings → iCloud Collections; off by default). Book files stay on each device.
WHY SYMPOSIUM?
Calibre Companion was discontinued years ago. BookFusion requires a monthly subscription. Symposium was built for Calibre users who want a modern, maintained companion — with a one-time purchase and no recurring fees.
