Before a free trial starts, Selah now shows the dates: when it ends, what it costs after, and that we remind you before it ends. Links now open selah.page.

The Portuguese Bible is now the Bíblia Livre (2018), in today's Portuguese. Small improvements.

Ask now reads each verse in its context — who is speaking and why — so its reflections stay faithful to the passage. Small improvements.

Sign in to sync, and your saved verses, highlights, notes, chapters read and reading plan now follow you to your other devices. Together: get a notification when someone joins your circle or prays for you — tap it to open the circle. Plus small fixes.

New Together tab: start a group, read the Bible with family and friends, see who read today and what, and pray for each other. Ten reading plans. Ask is now a conversation — pick up any past chat from the list on the left, with related questions after each answer. The chapter list shows what you have read and what comes next. Answers and verses you share now link to Selah.

When today's free answers are used, Selah can now bring you back tomorrow morning with a single verse — or you can start your free trial of Selah Plus right there.

New: reading plans (John in 21 days, Psalms for hard days, daily Proverbs), answers you can share as a card, and a clearer Selah Plus page.

Ask a follow-up and Selah remembers the conversation. Answers now stack as a thread, the field clears after you send, and screens are more consistent.

Answers now begin with the passages a pastor would open first, so the verses you see speak more directly to your question.

Introducing Selah Plus. Reading the Bible stays free, always. Free readers get 3 answers a day; Plus is unlimited, with a free trial on the annual plan.

Share a verse as a card: long-press any verse and tap Share for a clean image with the reference and translation. The verse for today is now always a complete sentence.

A verse each morning: turn on Daily verse in Settings and choose a time. Nothing leaves your device. Ask: the question field no longer hides behind the keyboard.

• When you reach the end of a chapter, Selah now shows one quiet card offering a way to support the app. Every verse in all five translations stays free — nothing is locked behind it. It appears at most once per launch, and choosing "Not now" keeps it away for 30 days. • Ask no longer waits forever. If an answer does not come back, Selah now tells you it failed so you can try again, instead of leaving "Composing…" on screen with the input disabled.

Fixes for reading on iPhone and iPad. • The in-app text size control (Aa) now scales verse numbers along with the text. • On iPad, Back sits at the left edge of the reading column instead of the corner of the screen. • The day now rolls over while the app stays open — you no longer see yesterday's passage. • Related-verse chips in History follow the language of the answer. • Song of Songs: speaker labels (Beloved / Lover / Friends) moved out of the verse text. • Spanish: heading words that had leaked into verse text moved to the heading. • Onboarding buttons fit the reading column on large screens. • The version shown in Settings matches the build you are running.

The Psalms now carry their own titles. "A Psalm of David." "For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments." "A Song of Ascents." These lines stand above the first verse in the manuscripts, and Selah was dropping every one of them. They are back in all four Bibles that print them — English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish — 474 titles in all. Psalm 119 is an alphabetic poem: 22 stanzas, each one beginning with the next letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The 22 headings — ALEPH, BETH, GIMEL and the rest — now stand in their own places inside the chapter, not only at the top, in the two Bibles that print them (English and Japanese). Selah also tells iOS and the App Store which languages it speaks. The app has been fully translated into Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Portuguese for some time, but the app itself only ever declared English, so the App Store listed it as an English app. Reading and Ask are unchanged.

Japanese readers: 18 chapters were missing from the Kougo (口語訳) Bible — Matthew 25-28 (the Passion and the Resurrection), John 19, Romans 10, Psalms 130-139, and Proverbs 30-31. All 373 verses are in the app now. The Japanese Bible is complete. Ask: - Answers no longer print database identifiers where a reference belongs. Where you read "...(titus.2.13, romans.8.24)", you now read "...(Titus 2:13, Romans 8:24)" — in your own language. Answers you had already saved are corrected when you reopen them. - The send button, and the controls beside an answer, are large enough to press. Reading: - "Continue reading" and the chapter arrows no longer vanish at the seam between two books. 65 chapter endings were dead ends; they now step into the next book. - The verse of the day turns over at midnight. If you left the app open overnight, the next morning still showed you yesterday's verse. - On the day daylight saving starts, your reading streak no longer loses a whole day. - The text-size sample now shows a verse that is actually in your Bible. - A bookmark inside the text grows with the text, so the mark no longer disappears first for readers using large type. - The "related verses" chips read in your language. - Small type stands off the background more clearly. Also: the app is named "Selah" on the Home Screen; 23 places where a space sat in front of punctuation are closed; the opening screen's headline no longer breaks in the middle of a word; and Settings no longer shows a blank line where the identity of a reader who has not signed in would go.

Scripture text repairs. Where two sentences had been fused into a single word — "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life" — the missing space is back. 29 verses, most of them in the Gospels, Acts and Revelation. Japanese: the 74 "Selah" notes now close their bracket instead of running straight into the verse. Portuguese: Psalm 74 no longer carries a print artifact from the 1911 edition. Three verses no longer show footnote markup as if it were scripture. Reading: - "Continue reading" takes you back to the verse you left, not to the top of the chapter. - Leaving a chapter your translation does not carry keeps the verse you came from. - The text now uses the full width of the screen. - The bookmark control is large enough to press without opening the passage underneath it. Also: the version shown in Settings is the version you are actually running.

Undo, where you are. Remove a saved verse and tap Undo: it returns to its exact place, with the words you saved, in the translation you saved them in. The same for deleting a conversation in Ask. Also: VoiceOver no longer reads the verse of the day twice.

This release is about the first thing you see when you open the app, and about names and words that were being cut in half. - Opening the app no longer moves the button out from under your thumb. "Begin reading" used to sit high on the screen for the first frame and then drop -- as much as 122pt on a small screen -- the moment the verse of the day arrived. The verse is now read before the first frame is drawn, so the button is where it will stay from the moment you see it. - Tapping a verse opens the reader at that verse, instead of at the top of the chapter. - The chapter picker reaches the bottom of the screen. It used to end above the tab bar, which put the last row of chapter numbers out of reach on short screens. - Names are no longer broken through the middle of a word. The book name in the chapter heading, the names of the translations in Settings, and the buttons back into the text on Today and in your reading journey now shrink until the name fits whole, or stack the label above its value instead of squeezing both into half a line. Wrapping onto a second line is still allowed; splitting a word is not. - The verse of the day and the greeting above it no longer split words at the largest type sizes. - Moving to the next or previous chapter keeps you in your own translation, unless your translation does not carry that chapter. - The block that holds the place of the verse on Today grows with your type size instead of clipping what is inside it. - Subscriptions now run on the current RevenueCat SDK. No change to the biblical text itself.

This release is about words that were breaking on screen, and one translation that was printing the wrong thing. - Korean: 14 verses showed an editor's note where the verse itself belongs. Twelve of those notes claimed the verse was "the same as" the one before it -- it is not; the preceding verse simply carries both. Two (Matthew 17:21 and 23:14) are not in this translation at all. The notes are gone rather than dressed up as scripture: the number is skipped, and nothing is invented to fill it. - Book and chapter names are no longer broken mid-word. On the shelf, in the title of the chapter sheet, and on the "next chapter" button at the foot of the reader, a name that will not fit now shrinks until it fits whole instead of being cut through the middle of a syllable. Wrapping onto a second line is still allowed -- only splitting a word is not. - Verse numbers step out of the margin when hanging them there would squeeze the text. On narrow screens and at the largest type sizes the number now runs into the line, the way a printed Bible does, and the whole width goes back to the words. - Settings and the tab bar tell VoiceOver which row is selected, and which rows are not choices at all. - The clear button in Ask history is a full 44pt target instead of 26pt. - Today no longer jumps when you come back to it. The moving band of questions was trusting elapsed time without limit, so after the app had been away it leapt forward on the first frame. - The Skip on the first screen is a word in the corner again, not a bar across the full width. Tapping empty space no longer skips the introduction. No change to the biblical text itself.

This release is about two things: chapters that were missing from the road, and places your finger could not land. - The chapter list now lays out the whole book. Reading in Japanese, 18 chapters simply had no button — Matthew ended at 24, with the passion and the resurrection nowhere on screen; Psalms went 129 to 140; Proverbs ended at 29. Those chapters are now drawn as doors, and one tap opens them in a translation that carries them. - Reading forward now walks the book, not the translation. "Next chapter" after Matthew 24 was blank, and after Psalm 129 it was Psalm 140 — honest about where it landed, silent about the ten it jumped. Both are gone. 457 verses sat behind those eight places. - Nine places you press are now at least 44pt, Apple's minimum. Several were below it at the default text size, and more of them on the smaller text sizes: the Skip on the first screen, the question chips on the home screen, the back arrow and Aa in the reader, the settings gear, the chapter buttons, the Terms and Privacy links on the support page, and the back arrow when leaving a substituted chapter. - The reading counts on the Read tab were adding up two different Bibles at once. They now measure one. No scripture text was changed.

Everything in this release is a fix for the app telling you something that was not true. - If the chapter index failed to load, all 66 books reported "not available offline" and none of them would open. Loading and genuinely-missing are now told apart. - For the same reason, a chapter heading could read "this chapter is not in the World English Bible" when the list simply had not arrived yet. - Your reading progress on the Read tab disappeared silently when it failed to load. It now says so and offers a retry. - Settings declared "you are offline" while it was still waiting for your account, and hid Delete account along with it. - Tapping a saved verse could lead nowhere. 457 verses were affected, including four chapters of the passion and resurrection. - Saved verses did not record which translation the text came from, so they could show different wording after you switched translations. - Leaving a chapter that had been substituted from another translation, your own translation was missing from the list of ways out. - The "Verified quote" badge appeared without saying which verse had been checked. No scripture text was changed.

A maintenance release. Nothing you can see or touch has changed since 1.0.2. Reading, the library, saved verses, and settings all behave exactly as they did before. This build exists so that the version Selah reports in Settings matches the build you are running.

Fixes for reading and navigation. • The gold band across the library looked like a door but was not one — none of the 66 book labels was big enough to be a reliable tap target. They are now. • Opening a chapter recorded it as read immediately, before a single line of text had been drawn. Reading is now recorded once the text is actually in front of you. • A translation could carry two different names — the one it was filed under and the one you saw while reading. It now has one name everywhere. • Long book and translation names were cut off mid-word in the bottom bar and in the reader. • When a purchase could not be started, the screen gave no reason. It now says what went wrong. • Warnings, verse numbers, chapter navigation, and the reader's own controls no longer run off the screen at larger text sizes — including the Accessibility sizes and on 320pt-wide devices.
