Nearby is the offline messenger for the people right around you. Send messages, photos, and group chats with no internet, no cell signal, and no Wi-Fi network to join. Your phone connects directly to the phones nearby, so you can keep talking on a plane, at a festival, underground, or anywhere the network gives out.

HOW IT WORKS
Nearby uses Bluetooth and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi, the same local radios your iPhone already has, to find other Nearby users close by and link to them directly. There’s no internet connection involved and no cell tower in the loop. Your messages go from your phone to theirs, and that’s it.
Both people need Nearby installed and within range. Keep the app open for the fastest connection; Bluetooth keeps chats reachable in the background.
