QuiltYield: Fabric Calculator
Yardage, backing & layouts
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Know your backing, batting and binding before you cut—then turn every quilt piece into a clear, low-waste fabric layout.
Plan a quilt with confidence before the first cut.
QuiltYield combines fast yardage estimates with visual fabric layouts. Enter the finished quilt size and your fabric assumptions to calculate backing, batting, binding and strip needs. Then add patchwork pieces and available fabric to create a practical low-waste cutting layout.
YARDAGE CALCULATOR
• Finished quilt width and height
• Backing and batting overhang
• Usable fabric width and seam allowance
• Multi-panel backing with join allowance
• Pattern-repeat rounding
• Binding perimeter, overlap, strip count and fabric length
• Finished-block to cut-size calculator
FABRIC LAYOUTS
• Patchwork pieces with quantities and rotation
• Grain or directional-print constraints
• Sheet-style fabric lengths and binding-strip projects
• Material use, estimated cost and unplaced-piece warnings
• Save useful remnants to a local fabric stash
PROFESSIONAL EXPORTS
Create PDF fabric plans plus CSV piece lists and SVG layouts. Back up or restore the entire workspace as JSON.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, backend, ads or tracking. Projects stay on this device unless you explicitly export them through Apple’s share sheet.
Free includes one quilt with up to 15 pieces. QuiltYield Pro unlocks unlimited quilts and pieces, the fabric stash, CSV import, quilt duplication and professional exports. Available monthly, yearly with a 7-day trial for eligible new subscribers, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Apple displays the binding local price and eligibility before purchase.
All results are planning estimates. Prewashing, shrinkage, pattern matching, bias cuts, fabric defects and construction method can change real fabric needs. Verify measurements before cutting.
