This release is about the writing itself — markup that stays out of your way, and structure that keeps up with you. LISTS, TASKS AND QUOTES • Return continues a list, a task or a quote, renumbers as it goes, and steps out of the structure when you press it on an empty item. • Tab and Shift-Tab nest list items, and walk from cell to cell inside a table. • List, task and quote commands now apply to every selected line, and switching between bullets and numbers converts the markers for you. VISUAL MODE • The markdown around the caret appears while you edit it and collapses again when you move away, so you always know what you are changing. • Arrow keys cross a hidden marker in a single press, and Backspace next to formatted text deletes the letter instead of breaking the formatting. • Click a checkbox to tick it off, Command-click a link to open it, hover a link or footnote to see what is behind it, and read a code block's language at a glance. FIND AND REPLACE • A new find bar with match case, whole words, a live match count, and Replace All as a single undo step. • Search matches what you actually see, so a word inside bold text is found the way you typed it. IMAGES AND PASTING • Images keep relative paths, or can be copied into an assets folder beside the document, so they survive moving the folder. • Paste formatted text from a browser, Word or Pages and it arrives as clean Markdown; paste or drop an image and it is filed next to the document. FOCUS MODE • Focus now dims only the window you are writing in, leaving your other documents alone. • Optional word goal while you write. AI • Rewriting with nothing selected now works on the current paragraph instead of the whole document. • Review a rewrite as a list of changes, edit the result before applying it, or give the model your own instruction. • The status bar shows which engine is running and whether any text leaves your Mac. • Chat shows exactly what it will send, and can recalculate a suggestion after the document has moved on.
