- Make it easier for grandparents and relatives to keep up: share a private album link, and they can tap it to see photos and videos on any device without installing an app or creating an account. Create a link for each recipient, optionally expire it after 30 days, and revoke it any time. - Invite relatives to receive photos by email directly from the sharing flow. Each photo email includes a link to browse the full album, so they can catch up from their inbox without you sending the same photos again. - Fix a typo or add a forgotten detail: you can now edit the words of your own posts and comments. Tap ⋯ on your post and choose Edit Caption, or touch and hold your comment and choose Edit. A quiet "edited" next to the time of a post, or the name on a comment, lets everyone know it changed. - Make photo collages from the Memories tab: choose 2–6 photos from an album, try Grid, Spotlight or Strips, and share a high-resolution image with your family. - Album photos and videos now stay in date order, newest first, with an option to show oldest first. Removed sort options that did not yet work correctly. - Find **Share without an app** in the family invitation screen or album menu. Choose an album, then create a browser link or invite someone by email from the same place. - Set album permissions once, and they stay in sync across your family's devices. Choose who can post, comment and react, save and share photos, or change the album audience; photo-viewer capture protection follows the album settings too. - Choose which updates arrive by push or email, with preferences saved to your account so you do not need to set them up again on another device. Email alerts are opt-in, and failed changes keep your previous settings. - Sharing restrictions also follow photos opened from notifications and used in collages or sticker exports. - Join a family at any time: from the Family screen or Settings, type in the invite code you were sent or scan its QR code. Until now the code could only be used while creating your account, so an invite that arrived after you had already signed up had nowhere to go (thanks Lori for reporting!). - Family invitations sent to your email now appear in the Family screen and Notifications, where they can be accepted or declined. - Family invite links now open directly in the app and carry the invitation through sign-in or account creation. - Choose who sees each album: everyone in the family, including anyone who joins later, or only the people you pick. Change it any time from the album's menu. - New accounts automatically find invitations sent to their confirmed email address. - If your email still needs confirmation, the app explains why and lets you resend the confirmation message from onboarding or Settings. - Expired, used, or withdrawn invitations no longer leave unusable actions behind. - Albums now have an Add button, so you can add photos to an album that already has some. - A family with no albums yet is now invited to create one, from the feed and when adding photos. - Home banners now stay hidden until there is something in the family feed. - An invite that cannot be used now says why, whether you answer it from a notification, from Settings, or while creating your account. Before, Join could quietly do nothing and leave you wondering, and a notification's invite would disappear from the list even when it had not been accepted. - Uploading more than 20 photos at once no longer fails; big selections are shared as several posts. - Renaming an album now sticks, instead of going back to the old name, and Home's album filter shows the new name. - Deleting an album now actually deletes it, and Home goes back to showing all albums if it was filtered to that one. - Closing Apple's account alert while signing in with Apple no longer shows an error message. - An album cover with no photo behind it wears a faint photo mark, instead of an empty gray square. - Children are no longer offered when you pick who to invite to an album; albums are shared between the grown-ups. - The notifications bell only lights up when something is waiting to be read. - Scrolling the feed is smoother, especially through posts with videos. - Photos and family members' faces show up faster while browsing. - The app is lighter on memory and battery during long browsing sessions. - A post card could briefly show the wrong person's profile photo while scrolling fast. - On iPhones with a home button, the tab bar sat on the very edge of the screen. - Jumping through the feed by date left the wrong video playing.
