Joe Town is a cozy pixel-art strategy game about a civilization of chickens, and the ten ages they cross to get from a mud camp to the stars. Built for touch on iPhone and iPad.
You lay the roads. They do the rest; and you will know them by name.
BUILT FOR TOUCH
Tap anything to learn about it: a plot, a building, a Joe. A tap on the board only looks. Choose a building and its ghost appears on the board; slide it where you want it and tap PLACE, with the exact cost shown before you commit. Draw roads with one finger, pinch to zoom, and double-tap for close detail.
A LIVING TOWN, NOT A SPREADSHEET
Every chicken on the board is a real citizen. The twelve founders are hand-drawn individuals; every Joe after them is unique. They take jobs, learn skills, make friends, remember what happened to them, and come to your throne room with requests in their own voice. Grant them, refuse them, or find the third answer nobody asked for.
A TOWN THAT KEEPS AN HOUR
Light moves across the plateau through dawn, midday, dusk and night. After dark every roof lights its windows, forges glow, and the throne burns gold against a cold board. Ground you have not built on reads as real stone, and the plateau's cut edge shows the rock it stands on.
BUILD SOMETHING PHYSICAL
Roads are supply lines, not decoration. Corn becomes flour becomes bread becomes food, carried tile by tile by chickens who actually walk the route. When a chain stalls, you can see exactly where and why.
TEN AGES OF TRANSFORMATION
Camp timber gives way to cut stone, brick arches, clockwork, radiant crystal, fusion alloy, orbital domes and void hulls. Buildings do not just get bigger; they change silhouette, material and machinery, and your chickens change wardrobe with them.
A WORLD BEYOND THE WALLS
Aim a scout into the fog and send it off. Meet thirteen animal civilizations, each with their own architecture, temperament and emissary. Trade, ally, hold festivals, or take what you want and live with it.
CHOOSE WHO YOU ARE
Five permanent origins, a branching guild tree where every node lifts a real restriction, ventures that earn while you are away, perks your Joes choose and traits they earn instead, and a monument you raise one phase at a time.
RESPECTFUL BY DESIGN
No energy meters, no streaks, no daily rewards, no upkeep. Your town keeps working while you are away and tells you what happened when you return. Pause whenever you like and it waits exactly where you left it. Play for four hours or four minutes.
