Dictaphone by Amzu
Private dictation & meetings
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Every iPhone gets 10 free meeting minutes a month. Dictation is always free and never leaves your phone.
Press record and talk. Dictaphone turns your voice into text on your iPhone — your everyday dictation is free, unlimited, and never uploaded.
Record a meeting and get back a transcript that shows who said what. When you tap Finish, the recording is uploaded once for cloud transcription, then speaker labels are added on your iPhone, where the transcript stays. Every iPhone gets 10 free meeting minutes each month; plans add 10, 30 or 100 hours monthly, and a one-time 10-hour top-up is available on any plan.
• On-device dictation (English UK · US, Português BR) with live text — free forever
• Meetings transcribed with anonymous speaker labels you can rename
• Import a recording — transcribe audio files, including calls recorded with Apple's built-in iOS call recording
• Start from Control Centre, Siri, or the Lock Screen Live Activity
• Personal dictionary helps correct names and jargon
• Share any note or meeting as a PDF
• A privacy receipt for every recording: see exactly what was processed where
• No account, no login, no iCloud sync — delete anything, it's gone
Cloud meeting transcription uses a zero-retention provider (named in our privacy policy). Dictaphone's server keeps usage records, never your audio or transcripts.
