Paperwoman

Softens glare & harsh contrast

Only for Mac

Mac

A faint paper grain over your whole screen — glare softens, hard edges calm down, screenshots stay clean. Free for 30 minutes a day; one purchase unlocks it for life. A bright screen is a kind of glare. Displays push roughly 1000:1 contrast at your eyes; ink on paper sits nearer 15:1. Hours into the day, that gap is what you're feeling. Paperwoman lays a faint paper texture over your whole screen — a click-through overlay that softens glare and harsh contrast, like a matte screen protector you can switch on and off. It is not a blue-light or color filter: just a barely-there neutral wash and a fine paper grain that take the hard edge off glossy glass. WHAT IT DOES • Nine paper styles: Classic Matte, Whisper Weave, Vellum Mist, Coldpress Cotton, Sunbaked Parchment, Saddle Linen, Painter's Press, Mulberry Veil, Monastic Felt. • One strength slider, Subtle to Strong. • Completely click-through — the paper never blocks a click, a drag, or a keystroke. • Knows when to get out of the way: it pauses itself over photo, video, and design apps (Photoshop, Final Cut, Figma, VLC, and more), and — if you like — while you're on battery. • Multi-display aware: choose which screens get the paper. • Never shows up in screenshots or screen recordings — your captures stay clean. • Covers full-screen apps and every Space, sitting just below the menu bar so the menu bar stays crisp. • Lives in your menu bar, with a proper settings window when you want it. Optional launch at login. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No sign-up. No analytics. Paperwoman collects nothing and has no server to talk to — everything happens on your Mac. FREE EVERY DAY, OR YOURS FOREVER Free: 30 minutes of paper every day, with every style and every setting. The clock only counts while the paper is actually on your screen, and it refills at midnight. Lifetime: one purchase removes the daily timer. No subscription, no recurring anything. Family Sharing supported. Requires macOS 14 or later. Works on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
