Abandoned: Forgotten Places
One forgotten place a day
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
A drowned village. A ghost city. A deserted island. Each day, one forgotten place — and the true story of how it emptied.
Every day, one forgotten place — and the story of how it emptied.
Drowned villages. Ghost cities. Decommissioned Soviet installations. Deserted islands that were once the most crowded places on Earth. Abandoned brings you a single forgotten place each morning, told in three quiet acts: what it was, why everyone left, and what remains.
• A new place every day, with a haunting photograph and its true story
• Then & Now — drag between a place full of life and the empty ruin it became
• Vanished — a daily reckoning: plot where it lies, guess when it emptied, and how
• The Atlas — a dark world map you slowly uncover, pin by pin
• Descend — an immersive mode of drifting image, surfacing words, and ambient sound
• Real coordinates and documented history, from places around the world
Atmospheric, unhurried, and true. Come back each morning to another place the world left behind.
