The free trial now covers the first 100 photos you file into albums or delete, together. Filing you did before this update isn't counted.

We've updated the App Store listing. The app works the same as before.

Smoother swiping: photos you swipe up to delete or down into an album now leave your finger without a stutter.

We've updated the App Store listing. The app works the same as before.

Swipe is now Flipfile: a new name, the same app. Everything you sorted stays as it was.

• After you finish a group, Swipe may ask you to rate it on the App Store, at most once per version. You can simply close it

• A down-swipe always puts the photo in an album. Favorite and Keep only are gone, and photos they left outside every album are back in Unsorted • Only Unsorted is ever "to tidy" now: an album shows how many photos it holds, and a month or a media type shows how many of its photos are still unsorted • Swiping a photo down from one album into another moves it there instead of leaving it in both, and Undo puts it back • Cards no longer carry marks from earlier decisions, and photos in the Recycle Bin stay out of every album and deck until you restore them

• Each photo now shows in its own shape, portrait or landscape, and the next one waits behind it, smaller and dimmer, until the top one is gone • Swiping down, the album the photo goes into is lit large, long names in full, and once you let go a note says which album it went into • A photo swiped up into the Recycle Bin picks up speed as it leaves • A photo still in iCloud while you're offline now says so, with Retry • After you empty the Recycle Bin, you see how many photos were deleted, and that the Photos app can bring them back from Recently Deleted for 30 days

• Recycle Bin: tap a photo to see it full screen, then Delete or Recover it. Swipe across to move between photos • Swiping up, left or right moves the photo straight along its line, and a thrown photo leaves at the speed you threw it • A light flick to the next photo always counts • Swiping down, the album names sit along the bottom of the screen, and only one is ever lit: the album the photo goes into, or More albums • Swiping runs at 120 Hz on ProMotion screens • A video still in iCloud while you're offline now says so, instead of showing an error over the photo • The photo counter no longer covers the photo

• The direction of a down-swipe now picks the album: down-left, straight down or down-right, one for each of your three quick albums • Keep pulling down to file a photo into any other album • As you drag, the photo takes on the colour of your choice — green to save, coral to delete • The end of a group shows where your photos went, album by album • Pin and unpin quick albums the way you pin a chat: swipe or long-press • Decks start from the first photo, and the list still marks where you left off • Smoother swiping from one photo to the next

• Search your albums by name, and create a new album right from a search that finds nothing • Decks reopen on the exact photo you left, and the list marks the row you were in • Progress counts what you have actually sorted; a deck can show what's left or everything • New photos appear without reloading your whole library, and videos start sooner • Clearer messages for limited photo access and when the price can't load • Fixes to undo, the bin, and video playback after an interruption

Deeper green on the save stamp, so its label reads clearly.

The down-swipe now files a photo straight into an album. Your quick albums appear in a row above your thumb — pick one without leaving the swipe. • Choose which five albums the row offers, and their order, in Settings or from the row itself • Live Photos now play on the card • Swipe between the Home dimensions; the calendar is its own Dates page, folded by year • Photos you've already dealt with don't come back around — undo puts them back • Steadier gestures, cleaner edges
