Every food app shows you the same fifty places, ranked by an algorithm that has never eaten anything. Above 14th is the opposite: a short, hand-picked list of spots someone chose on purpose — plus the places the community adds. No ads. No sponsored rankings. When everything is 4.5 stars, stars mean nothing, so you won't find any here.
GO THERE OR IT DOESN'T COUNT
Check in when you actually visit. Check-ins earn XP, and XP builds your level — everyone starts as a Tourist, and the climb to OG runs through a lot of very good meals. Daily streaks reward the habit. Your record is made of places you stood in, not places you saved and forgot.
SOME SPOTS BITE BACK
A few spots on the list are traps — the famous place that stopped trying years ago. The list won't tell you which: the reward reads ? XP until someone finds out the hard way. Check in at a trap and you don't score. You get got. Reading the list well is the real skill.
SHOW YOUR WORK
Post short videos from the spots you visit. Tag them, name the standout dish. Every video comes from someone who was actually there. Search finds people and videos by tag or keyword.
FRIENDS SEE MORE
Follow your friends to see each other's check-in history, spots, and personal maps. Strangers only ever see public videos. Your map is your track record, and the people you trust can read it.
KEEP SCORE
A weekly leaderboard settles who's eating best. A passport tracks every neighborhood you've cracked. The map paints it all in subway-line colors, so your progress looks like the city itself.

NEW PROFILE
• Your profile got a full redesign — bigger identity up top, followers /
following / spots counts, and an EDIT PROFILE button for a bio,
pronouns, and a link.
• Swipe left and right on the lower half to move between your videos,
check-ins, and spots (with your map). Tell us how the swipe feels.
• Tap any video in your grid — you can now scroll through all of your
videos in one continuous feed, like Reels. Swipe right to exit.
SEARCH
• New search on the home feed (magnifier, top left): find people, or
find videos by keyword and tag.
• When posting a video you can now add up to 5 tags — try tagging a
post, then searching for it.
WHAT WE MOST WANT CHECKED
• Open your profile, scroll around, switch panes repeatedly — does
anything stutter or freeze?
• Video sound: audio should always follow the video on screen, never
play over another.
• Anything that looks off — screenshot it and shake to send feedback.
