Select Area now includes two Photoshop-style lassos. Long-press the Select Area tool to choose Rectangle, Circle, Lasso, or Polygonal Lasso. Freehand Lasso — click and drag around a subject, then release to close the selection. If you let go early, a straight line joins the start and end. Hold Option and click to add straight segments in the same outline. Best for hair, fur, water, and other irregular edges. Polygonal Lasso — click corner to corner for straight segments. Best for buildings, boxes, and other hard-edged shapes. Delete removes the last point. Click the starting point, or double-click, to close. Press Escape at any time to stop the lasso and clear the points. Filters still apply only inside the finished selection.
