• New: Insights — see your reading streak and track the articles and quizzes you've completed. • Fixed a mislabeled section name and a bug where articles could be marked "read" without actually reading them. • Something still not right? Tell us at geteffy.io — we read every message.

• Read-aloud now works even with your iPhone's silent switch on. Article narration and the audio in stories and lessons used to play with no sound at all — now you hear it either way. • Something still not right? Tell us at geteffy.io — we read every message.

• Subscribe to Effy Pro and everything opens straight away — vocabulary, grammar notes and the whole article archive. No more closing and reopening the app to see what you have just paid for. • Flashcards work again: build a deck from an article's vocabulary, or add cards yourself. • Something still not right? Tell us at geteffy.io — we read every message.

• Housekeeping. No new features this time — the same Effy that 1.0.5 brought you, rebuilt and kept current. Your saved words, your decks, your milestones and your study streak are all exactly where you left them. • The next round of work is already under way. If something isn't behaving, tell us at geteffy.io — we read every message.

• Practise the words you saved, in the sentences you met them in — a card on the Cards tab starts a round of four drawn from your own reading. Words you save from now on remember their sentence; one round a day free, unlimited with Effy Pro • Make a deck from an article's vocabulary in one tap: one card per word, each carrying the sentence the word appeared in and the article it came from • Milestones — a new screen in your profile: words learned, grammar learned, your longest study streak and puzzles solved, each with the next tier and how far away it is. Mark a grammar point as learned while you read, and it counts toward your Grammar learned milestone • The Translation toggle now governs the Vocabulary and Grammar tabs too, and an article's card in a list keeps its summary in the language you're learning • The two most recent weeks of articles stay free, and anything you have already opened stays open — the rest of the archive comes with Effy Pro • Two trending stories a day in every language, up from one • Effy Pro bought in the app now works when you sign in on the web

• The plan screen now shows real store prices and states exactly what you'll be charged • Effy Pro unlocks the reader the moment your purchase goes through — no restart • Locked vocabulary and grammar explain what Pro adds, instead of counting down a trial • Repeat narration starts faster, and tap-to-translate keeps up when the app is busy

• A now-playing bar keeps article narration going while you browse • Tap it to jump back to the paragraph being read • Share your Daily Word result with friends • Fuller translations in the Games hub • Smoother background audio, tidier article cards, and flashcard fixes

• The Library's search and level filters now stay pinned at the top as you scroll. • Changing the reading level settles you at the top of the new list, instead of part way down a different one.

Reading • Search the catalogue straight from the article list. • Articles keep their original headline, so the title matches the text below it. • A translation you ask for now shows its progress, instead of quietly leaving the original in place. • New player controls on phone: jump to any line, and set your reading speed. Games • The board no longer resets when you leave the screen and come back. Pro and your account • A new in-app Pro screen with clearer pricing — the currency and the exact amount you will be billed are both shown up front. • Read, play and browse without an account; sign in only when you want your progress saved. • Sign in with Apple can now be linked to an account you already have. • Your tracking choice is now reachable at any time from Settings. Plus fuller translations across every interface language, and a long list of stability and performance fixes.
