Native Mac remote for OM System cameras: 30 fps live view, the exposure rail under your fingers, and the shutter one keystroke away. No account, no subscription.
Remote for OM System is a native Mac remote for the OM System OM-1. It connects over the camera's own WiFi and does three things:
SEE — live view at 30 fps, 1024×768, about 100 ms glass-to-glass. No app chrome over the frame; the image is the interface. Click to place focus. Live levels and a focus meter that climbs where the image is sharp.
CONTROL — the exposure properties the camera exposes over WiFi: mode, shutter, aperture, ISO, exposure compensation, white balance, and drive. Click a value or scroll to step it. The rail greys out what the current mode won't allow, and live metered readouts ride the video stream itself.
SHOOT — Space fires the shutter. The last frame comes back as a review toast; Inspect (I) pulls it at 1:1, landing on the point you focused, with focus peaking (P) for checking critical sharpness without leaving the app.
PRESETS — save any exposure as a named recipe and recall it with ⌘1–⌘9. A recalled preset shows its drift from what the camera is doing now, and reverts in one keystroke.
WORK IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA — a self-timer and intervalometer with visible countdown and audio ticks, subject detection that keeps focus on you (face, torso, or hands) as you move, and an onion-skin ghost of a reference frame for repeating a composition. Built for self-portraiture the way no camera-maker's remote is.
BODIES — built for newer OM-bodies; field-verified on the OM-1, E-M1 Mark II and E-M5 Mark II. The WiFi protocol holds three generations back, and the app adapts to whatever your body reports.
No account, no analytics, no internet. The app talks to your camera and nothing else.

Ratings & Reviews

NEW
- Save Camera Report, in Help: one file that lets your camera describe itself — model, modes, the values it accepts, what its remote dialect declares. Serial numbers are stripped before anything is written. If you shoot a body that isn't on the verified list below, this file is exactly how it gets there.
- The camera can decline a shot: with focus priority set, no AF lock means no frame — and until now the app left that press silent. It now says "Camera declined the shot (no focus)" the moment the camera says so. Nothing was fired, nothing is shown as fired.
- When the camera confirms the focus lock on a shot, the post-shot preview now carries a quiet "Focus confirmed" — read straight from the camera's own reply.
IMPROVED
- Help - Cameras now states a rule every remote session obeys: the camera always saves a JPEG next to your RAW, at your menu's quality — or Large-Fine if the menu says RAW-only. Every remote app gets this, including OM's own; it is how the camera shows you the shot. Your card is not misbehaving.
- Diagnostic logging no longer redacts itself in field logs — if you ever send a report, it now carries the data that answers it.
THANKS
- To Javier of the mu-43 forum, whose E-M5 Mark III field reports shaped 1.0.1 and this release. The About window also carries a credit and a "Thank you".
Verified on the OM-1, E-M1 Mark I, E-M1 Mark II, E-M5 Mark II, E-M5 Mark III. On a body not on that list? Help - Save Camera Report, and send us the file.
