Man the tower!
Air traffic control arcade

YOU ARE THE ONLY VOICE THEY HAVE
Nobody up there can see what you can see. Twelve aircraft, one runway, a
crosswind that just turned, and a Cessna somewhere in the murk who has stopped
sounding confident. That is the job. Man the tower!
Man the tower! is an arcade air traffic control game: a green radar scope, a
menu of real clearances, and a shift that will not wait for you. Tap an
aircraft. Give it a heading, an altitude, a runway. Listen to the readback.
Move on to the next one — there are four more checking in.
FOUR SEATS, FOUR DIFFERENT JOBS
Information, ground, tower or approach.. Each one changes what you are
allowed to say and what happens when you get it wrong. At an information field
you clear nobody: you pass the wind, the runway in use and the traffic, and the
pilots decide. On ground you own the taxiways and the gates, but the runway
belongs to the tower. On approach you build one clean line onto the localizer
and hand them over.
156 SHIFTS ACROSS 24 REAL AIRPORTS
Start at a grass strip in Denmark. Finish in a storm over Heathrow.
• Tower Training — seven short lessons you cannot fail, for when you want to
understand the circuit rather than survive it.
• Basic campaign (24 levels) — Alex's story, told in retro pixel cutscenes: academy,
circuit school, Schiphol ground, Innsbruck's valley, Rio's crossing runways,
the Bay, the parallels at Hong Kong, and the London shifts where departures
climb out through your arrival stream.
• Arcade (25 shifts) — the same fields, remixed and sharpened.
• The Troubleshooter (50 levels) — the world's hardest strips. Lukla. Paro.
Gibraltar. St. Barts. Aspen. Queenstown. Toncontín. Madeira. St. Maarten.
Narsarsuaq. Faster traffic, and live emergencies: a lost VFR pilot to vector
home before the fuel runs out, an engine-out glider that lands with or
without your blessing and blocks the runway, an airspace shutdown on a clock.
• The Gauntlet (50 shifts) — unlocked when the Troubleshooter is behind you.
It is not friendly.
IT TALKS BACK
Pilots check in, read back and complain, in real phraseology, with real
callsigns — "Speedbird four four eight, cleared to land runway two seven
right." Four pilot voices, a controller voice for your own transmissions, and
over 16,000 recorded radio calls. The chiptune score reads the room: calm when
the scope is clean, tighter when it isn't.
THE AIR IS HONEST
Wind components decide the runway in use, and a tailwind past the limit makes an
arrival balk and go around on its own — free, but it costs you the sequence. One-
way strips in the mountains cannot flip and cannot go around, so there the same
tailwind is a real overrun. Terrain is drawn on the scope and will not move for
you. Separation is 5 nm enroute, 3 nm terminal, wake spacing behind the heavies.
Three strikes and the shift is over.
A GAME THAT RESPECTS YOU
No ads. No in-app purchases. No energy meters. No account. It works on a plane,
in a tunnel, in the mountains — the whole game is on your device. There is an
in-game encyclopedia that explains every aircraft type and every concept the
game models, because knowing why the rule exists is the good part.
Man the tower! is not a simulator and is not for training or navigation. Procedures are simplified for
one thumb and twenty spare minutes.
