New on Apple Watch: make a list, rename, pin or delete it, and edit or remove items and tasks right from your wrist. Edits you make while your iPhone is away are kept and sync when it is back. Sync is sturdier: jots recovers on its own when iCloud asks for a fresh copy of a list, and changes left over from deleted lists no longer hold up syncing.

Accessibility updates. • VoiceOver and Voice Control: every checkbox, button and field now has a clear name, such as "Complete Milk". • Larger Text: lists, sheets and the iPad sidebar reflow at the largest text sizes instead of cutting words. • Contrast: every theme now meets accessibility contrast in light and dark. • Apple Watch: text follows your text size, and Reduce Motion is respected. • Fixed: search results sometimes did not appear.

A calmer, quicker Jots. Name a new list first and Jots suggests its icon and color. Pinned lists show their progress, ticked items gather in a done pile, and the capture line understands quantities and sections, like 2 oat milk #dairy. Tasks are grouped by date, search groups results by list, and sharing and settings are clearer. On Apple Watch, double tap ticks the next item.

Built for the new foldable. Closed, jots works on the cover as it always has, with its buttons in the side rail. Open it flat and your lists sit beside the open list; tap a task and its details open on the right page. Fold it like a book and each page holds its own list, groceries on one side and the week's jobs on the other. Set it on a table and the list stays upright while you type on the flat half, with your sections one tap away. Turn it to portrait and your pinned list rides along at the top, so you can tick groceries while you plan the day. Turn the cover sideways in shopping mode for big rows you can tick at arm's length, with the screen kept awake.

Ten new themes: Powder Pink, Shocking Pink, Lavender, Harbor, Glacier, Slate, Fog, Cocoa, Espresso and Gruvbox join Paper, Sepia, Ink and Moss. Each one has its own light and dark palette, and they reach your watch too. Settings has a new theme gallery with a live preview of your lists in the theme you pick, grouped into Classic, Blush, Cool and Warm. Sharper on larger screens. The sidebar shows each list's icon, full name and a clean count. Sharing opens from its button, and every menu has clear icons.

Minor bug fixes and improvements.

jots on your wrist. The new watch app mirrors your lists from your phone: tick items off with one tap, add lines by dictation, and keep a hand free. Shopping mode shows one item at a time in large type. Turn the crown to move, tap Got it to tick it off. Tasks on the wrist show who owns them and when they are due. Snooze a day or take a task from the detail screen. Complications for your watch face: remaining count, the next item, a list summary, and a one-tap way into adding something. Turn shopping mode on by default, set the default list, and pick a theme from the watch settings.

Bug fixes and speed improvements.

Lists open calm. The list fills the screen and the keyboard stays down until you ask for it. Tap the capture dock at the bottom to start adding, and the field stays open for as many lines as you need. Put the keyboard away with one tap. A dismiss control sits beside the field, a downward drag on the list does the same, and opening an item closes capture for you. Escape on a hardware keyboard closes capture on iPad.

Paste a whole list at once. Text with line breaks splits into separate rows, and bullets, numbers, and checkbox markers are removed for you. Copy any list as plain text. The list becomes a formatted checklist you can send in a message to anyone, on any device. Check items off from the Home Screen and Lock Screen. The widgets now show what is left and complete an item where it stands. Restock in one step. Add from recent brings back what you buy most often, ordered by how often you buy it.

Sharing a list with someone on another iCloud account now works. Tapping an invite used to open jots and stop there. The invite is picked up properly now, whether jots was already running or launched by the tap, and it turns on iCloud syncing for you so the list arrives without a trip to Settings. Shared lists arrive whole. Everything on the list travels with the invitation instead of the list showing up empty, and the person you invited can add and tick things off, with those changes going back to you rather than into a private copy. Items that had been sitting on your phone since before you turned syncing on now go up to iCloud. If a list read one short on another phone, that is why. The count on the home screen matches the list you open. A list counts only its own kind of row, so an item list stops counting leftover task rows you never see. Shared lists carry a small badge on the home screen, one mark for lists you shared out and another for lists shared with you, and you can pull down on the home screen to sync. Lists and tasks remain two separate kinds. A list is for what you are gathering, tasks have owners and dates, and you pick which you want when you make a new list.

Lists and tasks now work the way you actually use them. A list is a list. Groceries, packing, whatever you are gathering. Type a line, hit return, keep typing. Tap any line to fix it where it sits. Nothing asks you who it belongs to or when it is due, because a bag of apples does not need a deadline. Tasks are jobs. They have an owner and a date, so they open properly when you tap them, and you can hand one to whoever you share the list with. You pick which kind you want when you make a new list. The keyboard stays put now. Add twenty items in a row and it never drops out from under you. Also fixed: clearing completed items actually clears them, and a stuck sync queue no longer keeps retrying work it can never finish.
