One grey morning the bowl was full, the window was open, and your cat was gone. All that is left is a chain of paw prints leading out of town. Put on your shoes.
Follow the Paws turns the distance you actually walk and run into a journey after him. Every kilometre counted by Apple Health moves you further up his trail, towards the 10,000 km where you finally catch up.
A JOURNEY MADE OF REAL STEPS
There is nothing to tap to make progress. The app reads your walking and running distance from Health and moves you along the road. Walk to the shop, walk the dog, go for a run — it all counts.
CHECKPOINTS THAT TELL YOU WHERE HE WENT
The road is dotted with places where someone saw him. A fishmonger's cat who shared her breakfast. A barn where three cats waited out the rain. A station cat who watched him hop a hay cart. Each one is a short page in a travel journal, written in serif prose, waiting for you when you reach its kilometre.
A MAP THAT PAINTS ITSELF BEHIND YOU
The trail is drawn country: a dirt road winding through meadows and woods, with scenery that changes as the story does. It is only painted as far as you have actually walked. Past the walker it goes back to blank paper with the route dotted in, and every checkpoint you reach becomes a stamp pressed into the map.
A HAND-DRAWN PIXEL WORLD
Flat colours, one-pixel bevels, notched panels and a dithered paper page, laid out on a three-point grid. No gradients, no blurred shadows. Figures are crisp and readable; the prose is set in serif, like a real journal.
WIDGETS
Put the trail on your Home Screen: the day, the total, today's kilometres, the paw trail with your walker on it and the next checkpoint waiting at the end. Lock Screen accessories too. The widget never shows story text, so nothing is spoiled.
POSTCARDS WITHOUT SPOILERS
Every story you open can be shared as a retro postcard — the icon, the title, the kilometre marker. The text itself never leaves the app.
ALSO IN THE BOX
Seven languages: English, German, French, Ukrainian, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese. A walking streak and a daily total. Notifications when you reach a new checkpoint. iCloud sync, so the journey follows you between devices. Health access is read-only, and nothing you walk ever leaves your phone.
The first checkpoint is free. The full 10,000 km journey unlocks with a one-time purchase or a subscription.
