Settling in the UK or applying for British citizenship means passing the Life in the UK Test and, on most routes, proving your English with an approved test (SELT) in speaking and listening. PrepaUK helps you prepare for both.
The English level depends on your route: B1 for citizenship; for settlement (ILR), B1 for applications made before 26 March 2027 and B2 for applications made from that date (Statement of Changes HC 1691). The app sets your English goal from the date you enter.

WHAT THE APP DOES NOT SIMULATE
The approved English tests are taken with an examiner or on a computer; most answers are spoken. The app's listening questions have four options, synthetic voices and unlimited replays: they train your listening, they are not the format of any approved test and give no pass mark. Your spoken answers are not marked.

Life in the UK mocks are judged on their 24 civics questions at the 75% pass mark, with questions mixed each time. Speaking rebuilt on the task types of the B1 tests (interview, role play, listen and answer, prepared talk), with a self-check after each answer. Your English goal: B1, or B2 for settlement from 26 March 2027. Mock history and preparation per module: your level may look different. Listening sets are practice, without a pass mark. The History theme is now free.
