Thought Now is a private journal with a familiar feed and replies. Write a few words or speak, review the text, and save. No title or folder decision is required. Your own words build a way back to moments from your life. KEEP THE SCREEN WITH YOUR THOUGHT On iOS 27, set up Quick screenshots once, then long-press the Dynamic Island entry to choose Screenshot and write, Voice input or Text input. Quick screenshots take one screenshot without an ongoing screen recording. Voice and text open separate drafts without taking a screenshot. Dynamic Island requires a compatible iPhone. On earlier iOS versions, use the Back Tap screenshot shortcuts or an optional screen capture session. Start an optional screen capture session with system permission, then return through Dynamic Island to attach the screen and write. You can also use the screenshot shortcut, including a three-second countdown. Zoom and crop an image, then add drawings, highlights, arrows or text before saving. You can save an image with or without a written note. Nothing enters your timeline until you confirm Save. LESS BETWEEN YOU AND A THOUGHT Type in the app, use speech recognition, or set up the Capture to Thought Now shortcut for your iPhone Action Button. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets provide another route to capture. On iOS 18 or later, add New thought or Speak to Control Center or the Lock Screen. KEEP A THOUGHT WITHIN REACH Start Go Live during a walk, reading session or stretch of thinking. Keep a saved Moment or unfinished draft accessible through Dynamic Island and the Lock Screen. Return to the current thought, begin independent writing, or continue from a chosen Moment. Live Activities require system permission and are managed by iOS; Dynamic Island requires a compatible iPhone. LEAVE A DRAFT. RETURN TO IT. Begin a new thought without overwriting unfinished writing. Recover paused drafts through Unfinished thoughts. Only words you review and explicitly save enter the timeline. Ending a Live Activity does not save or delete a draft. FIND YOUR WAY BACK Read your own feed, browse dates and search your words. Use Index to keep a word or phrase beside an exact passage, or bring related Moments together in Lists. Correcting text keeps its original time and order. CONTINUE FROM WHERE YOU WERE Reply to an earlier Moment with what you think now. The new expression keeps its own time and the earlier thought as a source. When you want to go further, write a Vision, create an Action and record what happened. Organizing remains optional. YOUR WORDS, YOUR CHOICE No Thought Now account is required. The app keeps a local library and does not save audio recordings. Export a Thought Now backup, a readable Markdown timeline or Day One-compatible CSV. iCloud uses your Apple account; speech recognition, link previews and services you choose may use network connections. Your writing is not automatically rewritten or interpreted by AI. Interfaces in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Action Button capture requires a compatible iPhone and shortcut setup. System dictation language follows your shortcut configuration. There when you return.
