• macOS 27: Compact Mode works again. macOS 27 drops menu bar items that grow wider than half the screen, which removed BarStack's ‹ handle instead of hiding anything. BarStack now uses a shorter handle there, and hidden icons move into the system's overflow button. After updating on macOS 27, ⌘-drag the icons you want hidden to the left of the ‹ handle once. • macOS 27: the Hidden Icons list is turned off, because the new menu bar no longer lets apps see other apps' icons. • Fixed: while Compact Mode was on, the Hidden Icons list could say nothing was hidden. • Fixed: the popover kept showing the arranging hint after you pressed Compact, and Peek said icons would hide "when you press Compact" even though they hide again on their own.

• Fixed: with two displays whose menu bars sit at the same height, the Hidden Icons list showed every icon twice — the second screen's mirror row was being counted as part of your menu bar. The list now sticks to the display BarStack is actually on, collapsed or expanded.

• Hidden Icons — the popover now shows exactly which menu bar icons are hidden right now (or will be when you press Compact), drawn with their real menu bar glyphs. Turn it on when you like: it asks for Screen Recording access once, and captures only the menu bar icons themselves — never your screen. • Collapse and expand happen in one clean step, with no leftover boundary handle. • Popover tidied up: Launch at Login now lives in Settings › General.
