Share your kitchen with the people you cook with. Start a household and invite your partner, roommates or family through iCloud. Everyone shares the same recipes, and recipes you add or edit stay in sync for everyone. You choose what else to share: lists, the grocery list, the fridge and the meal plan. Each recipe shows who added it. Your cooking journal stays yours. Your cooking notes, ratings, photos and favorites stay private, along with any meals you planned before joining.

Nombook is on your Home Screen. Add the Meal Plan widget to see what you're cooking today, or the next day you've planned, without opening the app. The large size shows the rest of your week too. The Grocery List widget shows what's left to buy, grouped by aisle. Tick things off right from your Home Screen as you shop, and when everything's bought, it celebrates with you. Both come in small, medium and large, drawn in the same hand-drawn style as the rest of your cookbook. Recipe names can now be longer, and long names wrap onto two lines on your recipe cards. Nombook is ready for iPhone Duo, with a layout made for both displays.

Can't decide what to cook? Roll a dish. Nombook picks one of your recipes for you, leaning towards dishes that use what's in your fridge, especially anything that needs using soon. It won't suggest something already planned for that day and is less likely to pick what you just had. Like the answer? Plan it in one tap, or roll again. Your fridge is now grouped by the same aisles as your grocery list. Ingredients you type in yourself are remembered across your fridge and your recipes. When writing a recipe, you can tick several ingredients from the library and add them all at once. A small cloud now shows whether your cookbook is synced with iCloud, still syncing, or needs your attention, so a new device filling up is no longer a mystery.

Keep track of what's in your fridge. Note what you bought, how much and when. Each ingredient gets a usual use-by date that you can change, what needs using soon comes first, and you can see which of your recipes you can make with what's already there. Back from the shops? Tick what you bought on your grocery list and put it all in the fridge in one tap. When something runs out, one tap puts it back on the list. A recipe you're writing is now kept as you type. If Nombook closes before you save, it offers to pick up where you left off the next time you open it.

Plan your day by meal. Add a dish to a day and say which meal it's for — Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, or no meal at all, which is a complete thought too. To move one, hold it and carry it to another meal: the day rearranges under your finger, so you can see where it's going before you let go. Send your whole cookbook as one menu. It goes out under your own name, in any of the six layouts, and a long one is cut into sheets rather than stopping partway — so every recipe gets drawn. Recipes brought in from a photo or a post read better: a recipe card printed in two columns comes in as one recipe, and a dish arrives under the name it was given.

Turn a recipe list into a menu. Pick a layout — List, Fine dining, Illustrated, Cute, Chalkboard or Omakase — and Nombook draws your list as a menu you can send as a picture. Each one has a shape of its own, so a dinner for four and a week of meals both come out looking like a menu rather than a long scroll. Fix a step while you're cooking. Tap the pencil in cook mode to change the wording, the timer or the photo without leaving the walkthrough, and add a note and photos on the finish screen alongside your rating. Bringing in a recipe you've saved somewhere else is easier too: paste its link, or send the post to Nombook from the share sheet. If the recipe is only in the pictures, import screenshots of it instead.

This update gives you more ways to make every recipe your own: • Add total calories for the whole recipe and see them on the recipe page and shared recipe card. • Mark any ingredient as optional, so it’s clear what can be left out. • Record amounts in ounces or pounds, as well as grams and milliliters. • Turn off iCloud Sync anytime in Settings. Your recipes will stay on your iPhone, and nothing already saved in iCloud will be deleted. We’ve also made two small improvements: your preferred app language now stays in sync through iCloud, and the full ingredient library is available in What’s in My Fridge before you add your first recipe.

Your cookbook now syncs with iCloud. Recipes, photos, cook logs and meal plans appear on every device signed in to the same Apple ID — and they come back when you reinstall. It uses the iCloud you already have, so there is still no account to create. Settings shows whether syncing is on and what has reached iCloud. Also new: paste a recipe straight from a note or a message, tap any photo to open it full screen and save it to Photos, and a larger ingredient library that starts each ingredient at a sensible amount.
