Library Health Report: Know What You Have
Add a drive or folder, and LumiLab scans it in the background to produce a photo health report: total photo count, storage used, the range of years covered, and the cameras and formats in your library at a glance. Run a cleanup or prime analysis and the report adds defect statistics; run a cleanup analysis and it also adds duplicate-group counts. Every figure links to the matching workflow, so you can jump straight to cleanup or people organization in one click.
Smart Cleanup Workbench: Reclaim Disk Space
Blurry? Eyes closed? Overexposed? The AI runs entirely on your machine to flag these flawed shots (blur, exposure issues, closed eyes). Visually similar photos are grouped together — burst shots usually land in the same group — so you can compare them side by side. The cleanup workbench is built around two keys: K to keep, X to mark for deletion, with box-select for bulk marking. Incremental analysis skips photos it has already processed and only handles new or changed files, so it never wastes your time.
Your Own People Wall
The AI automatically groups the faces in your photos into a people wall. Give each person a name or click "merge," and LumiLab assembles a personal collection for every one of them — once named, faces that appear in newly scanned photos are filed under them automatically. If a pet or a statue gets mistaken for a person, one click removes it, and later analyses will remember your choice.
Safety-First Metadata Management
Edit descriptions and copyright across multiple photos at once, and add tags in bulk. Every change is drafted first and only written after you confirm. By default, metadata is saved to an XMP sidecar file without touching your originals; you can also choose to embed it into the JPEG itself, or do both. All write-back operations are logged in history and can be rolled back with one click.
Browse Freely, Search Fast
Powerful filters zero in on what you need: combine date, person, rating, color label, camera model, and tags, or run a full-text search across file names and metadata (including lens model). Choose from grid, list, timeline, and loupe views, and create virtual albums that take up zero disk space. High-frequency operations are keyboard-driven, so flipping through photos, rating, and marking is faster than ever.

Your photos belong to you. Every AI analysis and face-recognition task in LumiLab runs locally on your computer — not a single photo or piece of data is ever uploaded. AI models need to be downloaded once on first use (or imported from a local folder in Settings); after that, the app works fully offline.
