Solaria is a sun-safety and tanning app for iPhone. It combines the live UV index for your location with your skin type to show how long you can stay in the sun today — in minutes — and reminds you to reapply sunscreen during a session.
Best for: people who want to tan but burn easily, parents watching their kids' sun exposure, travellers heading to a sunnier climate, and anyone tracking vitamin D from sunlight.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Set your skin type (Fitzpatrick I–VI) and the shade you want to reach.
2. Solaria loads today's UV forecast for your location, or for a city you pick by hand.
3. You get a safe-time countdown and an SPF recommendation for today's UV.
4. Start a session and the countdown also accounts for the sunscreen you applied, time in shade and time in the water.

AFTER A SUNBURN
Got burned anyway? Log a skin check and Solaria switches to a skin recovery plan: a countdown until it expects your skin is ready for sun again, daily after-sun recovery tasks — water, cream, cooling the skin, staying in the shade — and a short list of what to avoid. Completed care tasks shorten the countdown; time in the sun during recovery makes it longer.

WHAT SOLARIA IS NOT
Solaria is not a medical device and does not diagnose skin conditions or skin cancer. Safe time is an estimate built from a forecast and your answers, not a promise. The recovery plan is general after-sun care, not treatment. Reflection from sand and snow is not counted. For any mole or skin change, see a dermatologist.
