Mac
No more videos without subtitles. On-device speech recognition captions anything you play, as it plays. Your videos never leave your Mac. Free to start.
Subline is a Mac video player that's serious about subtitles. Lectures without captions, foreign-language videos, old recordings: drop a file in, pick a language, and the speech flows as time-synced subtitles. All on your Mac.
■ On-device live captions
Subline transcribes the audio with macOS on-device speech recognition and shows time-synced captions. Neither audio nor transcripts are ever sent to a server. Multiple languages are supported; download a language pack once and it works offline.
■ Speech map
A loudness graph over the timeline shows where the talking is, so you can jump straight to the parts worth hearing.
■ Transcript panel with scene jumping
Skim the whole transcript in the side panel, search it, and click any line to jump to that moment. It auto-scrolls with playback.
■ Export to SRT, WebVTT, or text (Pro)
Save the generated captions as standard subtitle files and reuse them anywhere.
■ Analyze a whole playlist
One click prepares captions for every video in your playlist, ahead of time.
■ A simple, focused player
• 0.5x to 2.0x speed, per-second skipping (1/2/3/4/5/10s)

• Translucent, auto-hiding controls
■ Effortless playlists
• Add via drag-and-drop or ⌘O; folders expand automatically
• Double-click to play, drag to reorder, multi-select to delete

■ Keyboard shortcuts

■ Free and Pro
Subline is free to download. The free tier plays up to 100 minutes of your own video and audio in total, and makes live captions for 3 of your videos. The sample clip bundled with the app counts toward neither limit. When the free tier runs out, Subline Pro keeps you going: unlimited playback and live captions, export to SRT, WebVTT or text, and captions for a whole playlist at once.
• Choose a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a lifetime unlock (a one-time purchase).
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
• Purchases can be restored anytime with the same Apple Account.
No account, no sign-in, no ads, no tracking. Your playlist, captions, and settings stay on your Mac.
