A precision dark-dial instrument: true-north compass, dual-source altitude from barometer + GPS, and live pressure. Fully offline. No ads, no tracking.
BaroCompass — a clean, precise compass and altimeter.
One immersive dark instrument dial that makes three things perfectly clear: direction, altitude, and pressure.
COMPASS
• True-north heading (falls back to magnetic north without location), with a smoothly tracking dial
• Large degree and cardinal readout you can read at a glance
• A gentle haptic tick when you cross north, just like a real instrument
• Live heading accuracy, with a calibration hint when magnetic interference is detected
ALTITUDE
• Dual-source altitude: barometric altitude (system-calibrated absolute) cross-referenced with GPS altitude
• Live GPS vertical accuracy (± meters)
• Relative change: cumulative ascent / descent since you opened the app
PRESSURE
• Live atmospheric pressure in hPa (station pressure)
• Sea-level pressure calculated from your altitude, so you can compare it directly with weather reports
AND MORE
• One-tap meters / feet switch
• Coordinates with horizontal accuracy
• Dark instrument design with Dynamic Type and VoiceOver support
• Works fully offline — no network required
PRIVACY
No data collection. Location and sensor data are processed entirely on your device. No accounts, no ads, no third-party tracking.
Made for hiking, climbing, camping, location scouting — and anyone who wants a quick, trustworthy read on direction and altitude.
Note: barometric altitude requires a device with a barometer (iPhone 6 or later); system-calibrated absolute altitude requires iPhone 12 or later; true-north heading and GPS altitude require location access.
Ratings & Reviews
• Redesigned dial: three tick levels, upright labels, and the arc from north to your heading lights up
• New sea-level pressure, calculated from your altitude so you can compare it with weather reports
• True/magnetic north and heading accuracy at a glance, with a calibration hint when interference is detected
• The compass now keeps working without location access, using magnetic north
• Fixes: relative change no longer resets when you open Control Center; heading no longer shows 360°
