HexLume is a sandboxed, offline, educational hex viewer designed for speed, learning, and forensic integrity, containing no advertising, no telemetry, and no in-app purchases. Whether you are a computer science student learning binary structures, a security researcher analyzing binaries, or a digital forensic examiner verifying file integrity, HexLume provides a clean, native macOS interface to inspect raw bytes without risk.
By using memory-mapped I/O (mmap), HexLume can open gigabyte-scale disk images, binary payloads, and partitions instantly with an incredibly low memory footprint (typically under 15MB).

Verify file headers block-by-block. HexLume automatically maps magic byte signatures to detect spoofed file extensions (such as identifying a PDF disguised as a PNG).
