Airmony - Gesture Instrument
Play music with your hands
Free · In‑App Purchases
No instrument, just your hands and the camera. Mesmerizing for beginners, an inspiration engine for musicians: improvise in thin air, every note lands in key.
Airmony turns the air in front of you into a musical instrument. Hold up a hand, and the front camera reads your gesture in real time: pinch to play a note, slide your hand left and right to move across the scale, and raise or lower it to swell the volume. Use both hands to layer chords. There is nothing to hold and nothing to connect.
No musical training required. Because every gesture lands on a note that fits, complete beginners play something beautiful in their first minute, and the experience quickly turns mesmerizing. Musicians get an inspiration engine: improvise with no instrument at hand, stumble onto melodies you would never have written, and capture them as clips.
Everything runs on your device. Your camera frames are processed live, on the phone, for hand tracking, and are never uploaded or sent anywhere. There is no account, no sign-up, and no network connection required to play.
PLAY WITH YOUR HANDS
• Pinch to play, release to stop: a natural, expressive trigger.
• Move side to side to glide across the notes of a scale.
• Raise and lower your hand to control volume.
• Use two hands for chords and harmonies.
MUSIC THAT STAYS IN KEY
• Snap to a scale so every gesture lands on a musically correct note.
• Choose from major, minor, pentatonic and more.
• Pick your octave range and a sound that fits the mood.
A REAL SYNTH ENGINE
• Multiple waveforms, a built-in arpeggiator, reverb and delay.
• Designed for low latency so your hands and the sound stay in sync.
MADE FOR SHARING
• Record a clip in one tap, framed vertically for Reels and TikTok (9:16).
• A clean Airmony watermark is baked in.
• Share straight to your favorite app with a caption ready to go.
• Sing along with wired or Bluetooth headphones: turn Voice on before recording. The microphone is off by default. Balance your voice and the music with two faders before sharing.
FREE TO PLAY, MORE INSIDE
• Play for free with four moods and no playing-time limit. Record and share clips up to 20 seconds, ending on a whole musical bar.
• Airmony+ (subscription or one-time lifetime purchase) unlocks all 16 moods, Pro harmony, The Beat, clips up to 3 minutes and two Face Blur styles for the main face. Review your clip before sharing.
ACCESSIBLE BY DESIGN
• VoiceOver support and Reduce Motion respect.
• Visual cues never rely on color alone.
Airmony works best in landscape with a bit of room in front of you and even lighting. Bring your hands into frame and start playing.

Ratings & Reviews
Fixes for some devices, and Airmony on the Mac.
• The camera permission window fits on screen with larger text. If iOS still hides the Allow button, Airmony walks you to Settings.
• On a Mac, the camera image is the right way up and the controls are larger and easier to reach with your hands. Keyboard shortcuts work too.
• The cursors stay closer to your fingers, and the screen stays on while you play.
• Airmony now turns with your iPhone or iPad, whichever way you hold it in landscape.
• Wired USB-C earbuds now count as headphones for singing along.
