Hold your phone's edge against the roof and the pitch locks by itself. New in Pro (subscription): pitch photos, measuring from the ground and PDF job reports. What pitch is that roof? Hold your phone against it and read the answer. Roof Pitch turns your iPhone into a pitch gauge that opens straight to the reading. Hold the phone's long edge against the roof, a rafter or the gable trim. Once it holds still, the reading locks by itself, so you can lift the phone and read it. Rise over 12, degrees and percent grade show together. There are no ads, no account and no sign-in, and the gauge is free. Pro tools need a subscription, weekly or yearly, with a free trial for new subscribers. Pro covers pitch photos, measuring from the ground, jobs with PDF reports, and the rafter, cut, area and material calculators. THE GAUGE (FREE) • Rise over 12, degrees and percent grade, read at the same time • Locks by itself with a vibration when the phone holds still, and can say the pitch out loud • Measures on the phone's flat side edge, so the camera bump doesn't tilt the reading • Calibrates in seconds: turn the phone around on the same spot • Shows what the pitch allows: the nearest whole pitch, steep or low-slope (OSHA), and the minimum slope for asphalt shingles, tile, metal, slate, wood and low-slope membranes (2021 IRC) • Runs on the phone's motion sensors, so it works without a signal on site PRO: PITCH PHOTOS • Photograph the roof face with the pitch printed on the picture: whole pitch, exact reading, how it was measured and the calibration in use • Add the street address, date and time, and a note such as a claim or permit number • Save to Photos and to the job PRO: MEASURE FROM THE GROUND • Hold the phone up to a gable end and line the guide up with the roof edge. A quick check needs no ladder. • Readings are marked as estimates, and the app warns you when the camera is tipped PRO: JOBS AND REPORTS • Keep every roof face's reading and photo together under one job • Export one PDF report with a table of readings and every stamped photo PRO CALCULATORS • Lengths in feet, inches and fractions to the sixteenth, or in millimeters • Common and hip/valley rafter lengths, and ridge height above the plate • Plumb lines as speed-square settings, side cuts as framing-square numbers • Jack rafters at 16" or 24" spacing, with each length listed • Birdsmouth heel, notch depth and height above plate, with a warning when the notch runs deep • Roof area by section, each at its own pitch, and squares • Shingle bundles, underlayment rolls, starter strip, ridge cap and drip edge YOUR WORK STAYS ON YOUR PHONE Roof Pitch has no accounts and no server of its own. Readings, photos and jobs stay on your iPhone unless you share them. IMPORTANT Roof Pitch is an estimating aid. It is not a certified measuring instrument or an engineering calculation. Readings depend on your device's sensors and how you place the phone, and readings from the ground are estimates. Whether an insurer or inspector accepts a pitch photo is up to them. Always verify critical dimensions on site before you cut material, order or quote. Working at height is dangerous, and no measurement is worth an unsafe position on a roof. SUBSCRIPTION Roof Pitch Pro is an auto-renewing subscription: • Weekly: $4.99 per week, after a 3-day free trial • Yearly: $59.99 per year, after a 7-day free trial The free trial is for new subscribers. Prices are in USD and may vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Terms of Use: https://roofpitch.vovaluka.com/terms Privacy Policy: https://roofpitch.vovaluka.com/privacy

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

• The reading locks by itself once the phone holds still on the roof. Lift the phone and the number stays. The app can also say the pitch out loud. • See what a pitch allows: the nearest whole pitch, steep or low-slope, and the minimum slope for each common roofing material. • Pro: pitch photos with the reading, date, address and your note printed on them. • Pro: measure a pitch from the ground with the camera. • Pro: jobs that keep every roof face's reading and photo together, exported as one PDF report. • Pro calculators: feet, inches and fractions or millimeters; plumb and side cuts, jack rafters, birdsmouth and height above plate; roof area by section; starter strip, ridge cap and drip edge. • Every screen works at the largest text sizes, and the orange text is easier to read.
