- Bug fix for long videos If you had a long recording with many zooms, the zoom would freeze/stuck halfway through. Fixed - zoom now stays smooth for the whole video. - New background options • Solid color background: You can now choose a solid color (e.g. dark gray) behind your recording, not just a wallpaper image. • Fit to Resolution on export: New export option to force output to a fixed size - 720p / 1080p / 1440p / 4K. Your recording is scaled to fit inside it with the background filling the rest, so you get a perfect frame.

Add support for theme override. You can now select a different theme than your system setting via Appearance → System / Light / Dark.

Features Cancellable exports - Video and GIF exports can now be cancelled mid-flight via a Cancel button on the export progress overlay (with Esc shortcut). Stops the active export cleanly and distinguishes user-cancelled exports from failures. Silent audio track for audio-less exports - Video exports of recordings with no audio now get a synthesized silent stereo AAC track muxed in (required for App Store previews). Includes an opt-out toggle and a video-only fallback if the mux is rejected. Smoother speed changes - The preview keeps playing through rebuilds when you change clip speed.

Permissions, Up Front Permissions appear on the start screen as clear icons (Screen, Microphone, Camera, and Keyboard on direct builds). You grant what you need before you hit Start Recording. Until access is granted, the related controls stay disabled, including Start Recording without Screen Recording, and the mic/camera pickers without those permissions. Hovering over a disabled control explains what you need to enable. This avoids mid-flow system prompts when you start a capture or turn something on, so you always know what's required before you begin. Crop, Before and After Pick a region before recording as a soft crop: the full display is still recorded, and your selection becomes the starting crop in the editor. While you record, the area outside the region is dimmed so the bounds stay obvious. In the editor, you can expand, shrink, or reset the crop to the full frame, so even a tight pre-recording selection is easy to fix later, and cropping before and after recording stays one seamless flow.
