AppAtlas is a native, sandboxed macOS utility for understanding applications, installer archives, and storage—all processed locally on your Mac.
Use AppAtlas to:
- Scan Applications, user Applications, Downloads, and folders you explicitly authorize;
- Understand storage through an overview, application bubbles, and a multicolor share ring;
- Hover over application shares and browse apps by size, name, or source;
- Inspect versions, bundle IDs, signatures, architectures, paths, and file structures;
- Find byte-for-byte identical installers and multiple app versions that share a bundle ID;
- Run Space Cleanup independently across Downloads and authorized folders;
- Clean low-risk items together, review medium-risk items individually, and leave high-risk items unchanged;
- Use the Storage Change Timeline to see additions, removals, and size changes after each scan;
- Open apps or reveal applications, installers, and files in Finder;
- Organize local content with categories, tags, notes, and ignored status.
Privacy and safety:
- Scanning and SHA-256 calculations stay on this Mac;
- No account, ads, analytics, or cross-app tracking;
- Application names, bundle IDs, paths, and installer information are never uploaded;
- System, installed, and running applications are excluded from batch cleanup;
- Eligible items move to Trash only after your explicit confirmation;
- AppAtlas never permanently deletes files or empties Trash;
- Desktop and other folders are scanned only after you select them through the macOS system picker.
