Every leftover gets a countdown. ZapOrScrap is a leftover tracker with no typing: open it, snap the container, tap how many days, done. Pay once, no ads, no subscription.
You put the container in the fridge. Four days later you find it, sniff it, and wonder how long it has been there. Now each one has a color and a countdown. Zap it (heat it up and eat it) while there is still time. Scrap it (toss it) when the time is up.
SNAP, TAP, DONE
The app opens straight into the camera. Snap a photo of the container, then tap 1 Day, 2 Days, 4 Days or 1 Week. No names to type, no barcodes, no categories, no accounts. You pick the use-by date, so it fits your own kitchen.
YOUR FRIDGE AT A GLANCE
The fridge is a grid of your photos with thick color borders and a bold countdown on every tile. Green means more than a day left. Amber means the last 24 hours. Red means the time is up. Fewer forgotten containers means less food waste.
ZAP IT OR SCRAP IT, WITH UNDO
Tap a tile and your photo opens up large, with the countdown on it, such as "20h left" or "Expired 5h ago". Then choose:
- Zap it: I'm heating it up
- Scrap it: I'm tossing it
- Give it one more day: shows where the new date lands first
Swipe a tile to scrap it. Zap, Scrap and one more day all come with Undo.
A WIDGET THAT DOES THE REMEMBERING
The home screen widget shows your four soonest-expiring leftovers with their status colors, so you see what needs eating without opening the app.
EXPIRATION REMINDERS AT MEALTIMES, THEN SILENCE
A heads-up around lunch or dinner a day before an item runs out, and one more when time is up. Reminders only arrive near mealtimes, never at night. Expired items are cleared 48 hours later, photo and all, the next time you open the app.
NOTHING TO SIGN UP FOR
No account, no cloud sync, no analytics, no ads. ZapOrScrap never sends your photos or dates anywhere. They stay in the app, and in your own iPhone backup if you use one. The App Privacy label says Data Not Collected.
FOR EVERYONE IN THE KITCHEN
Works with VoiceOver and large text. Pay once, no ads, no subscription.
ZapOrScrap is a reminder tool, not a food safety authority. The dates are the ones you choose. When in doubt, trust your eyes and nose.
